-Must fire stock nerf darts for safe inter-dorm fighting
-Successfully integrate SMDTG into my 3B's body
-Maintain a decent appearance
-Allow the SMDTG to be removed for possible future integration (These things are hard to find in the Atl)
So working with those parameters I sat down and looked at where best to place parts of the SMDTG because unfortunately the 3B has almost no empty internal areas compared to some guns. I started by modding the 3B with a 9 inch telescoping brass barrel. I couplered it using the stock barrel. I also added nf ar springs to reinforce the two plastic side pieces that allow you to cock the gun. Then I removed the SMDTG's ars and sanded the inside of the barrels to allow taggers to slide partway down them. I also sealed the hole in the trigger. Now onto the integration. (These things have all been done before and can be found in the modifications directory.)
I'm sorry for the picture problems, my camera has no macro feature and imageshack refuses to resize my photos. (I prefer video to pictures, I choose to remain ignorant in the ways of photography.)
I pondered putting the pump or trigger in the back part of the 3B but didn't want cables in an area that would be contracting/expanding. So I kept the SMDTG all on the forward casing of the 3B.
First thing is I dremeled away a hole in the front of the 3B.
You'll find that the pump fits perfectly in this area.
Now put the assembled pump inside, mark where the tubing hits the wall and drill that area out.
Now your pump rests perfectly within your 3B so go ahead and epoxy it down, I used hot glue so that I could remove it later.
I decided to place the trigger assembly for the SMDTG close to where my thumb is, feel free to place yours in a different location.
Now sand out room for the tubes to squeeze in that gap between the main chamber and the upper support rail. Your trigger won't even need adhesive here as the tight fit and curves of the gun cradle and hold the trigger tight.
Now the pump and trigger are in and secure so get ready to add the SMDTG barrels.
Once you've modded your SMDTG to your preference, sand down the pegs for the screws.
Now get your epoxy putty out and secure the SMDTG to the side of your 3B. I also used some epoxy in certain areas for a stronger bond. Also connect all of the tubing together.
Congratulations you now have the 3B's power and accuracy with a SMDTG's quick fire!
I can't give accurate ranges because of the wind here right now but I'm getting well over 70 feet with the 3B's shots right now while the SMDTG is giving me about 60 feet at it's farthest (with 30 pumps). I will also be in Peru from the 24th to the 31st so get in your questions, comments, concerns now! Paint job will come when I return.
So how's my first write-up, besides the photo problems?
