Just putting this out there. All the Nerf wars I have checked out have been in the states and I don't have the time nor money to fly down there. Just a suggestion, but anyone in the Edmonton area wanna get together and have one?
I have never organized one before, so some help would be nice.
Hope I can get this going sometime in late July to early August.

Let me know what you think

I live in Toronto, but go to edmonton every summer. If you planned it for around late august, I would be able to attend.

First you're going to have to find enough people for a war, and as for Canadians I don't really see a lot of Nerfers up North. I mean, look at my NUVO thread - we've got no old-school Nerfers in the Vancouver area who care enough to join us for a war. I've even tried pm'ing and e-mailing various members who posted in the old Vancouver threads, and I've only received replies from a few members and even then they didn't show up.

So, if you want participants you'll need to make 'em if there's no response on the boards. Get your friends interested in Nerf and show off a few of your modded Nerf guns. That's really the best way to promote the sport and get participants. If you go on any local forums then there's another way, suggest a Nerf meet-up. The date, location, and other details don't matter if you don't have participants.

If you need a ruleset, you could adapt the SoCal abridged rules, they're pretty easy to learn and enforce. We did that for NUVO and we've had little trouble with the rules so far.

I wish you luck with your Nerf war, and I *may* find myself in Edmonton sometime so I'll be lurking in your thread a lot.

EDIT: I forgot to mention how I've had no replies on the NUVO thread, absolutely none from other members! How lame is that? But I still managed 10 players to show up, and 8 stuck around the entire day, without any NerfHaven members except myself. Hopefully you get better luck.
