"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

Cxwq hasn't been active for a long time as far as I know, and as such hasn't added any new content to the mods section either. I think he and probably VACC are the only people able to do that, and as neither of them probably have the time to bother you'll just have to deal with the outdated mods. Personally I still enjoy reading the old writeups for something to do.

Either that, or you could keep it updated with the latest guns and the mods for them, so people wouldn't have to troll the forums looking for FF, NF, Maverick, Longshot, etc. mods...
There is a mod for the NF in that directory. The one on the main page I mean.
It's just screaming to be rearloading...
I seen a movie about that once.

Yeah, I know, but how many people new to NERF have a SF or a LnL? I think we should remove those mods, or just keep them there as a little slice of site history...

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

I also think the modifications directory should be on the main page.
I would hate for someone to hear about our modifications directory and come here and find that instead.
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

No, I already knew that. I meant that when you put it in topic form and lock it you link those topics to the modifications directory and kill the Modifications tab on the front page. Then, maybe add a link that says "Modifications Directory" on the front page. Then everybody is happy. All of those modifications have already been added to the directory.

Also, I think a revamp of the modifications page may be in order. It would rock if it were formatted like the forums, to give the whole thing a nice sense of continuity, and had sections- "Beginner mods", "Advanced mods", "Discontinued blasters", stuff like that.

As for classifying the mods and guns Omega, SHA is right. Most of those that are new to modding are told to do the NF first instread of the LS as the LS is alot harder, but I did it first and had very little trouble. I now people that had a hard time modding their NF and just about every gun they touched, so to classify any gun by it's modification difficulty would be subjective to the skills of the modder.
As for the discontinued section idea, there is no need. Enough people on here constantly keep us informed of what is out and what is gone. No need for a specific section.
The Mods section on the front page needs no work at all. It has worked just fine for years and no one has conplained about it until now. Leave well enough alone.

Regarding classifying mods in terms of difficulty, I agree with Omega. Though you make a good point that difficulty is subjective, the system could be based on general trends. I bet 99% of the users of this board will say that a nitefinder is easier to mod than a longshot, for example, and ideally, a rating system would not discourage people from attempting an ls mod, but merely get that trend across to them.

But there are only a handful, probably less that that, of guns that everyone could reach a single consensus on. The "trends" that you're talking about are either obvious in such a way as to negate the need to officially list them, or are an average based on a large amount of vastly different opinions. The latter would mean that my point was valid, and because there cannot really be a set difficulty for a mod, there is no way to accurately classify them based on how easy or hard one is. Badger and I both completed LS mods as our very first attempts at modding, and found it easy while others may find it too complex or confusing, for example. Some may screw up a Nitefinder mod while others do it automatically because to them it is obvious what needs to be done and how it is best executed. That fact is that difficulty is objective and therefore, apart from the commonly accepted "NF is easy" opinion, there really is no established ground for what the ratings would be. The best way to do it would be to make a poll for each gun, but that would be time consuming and still ineffective.Regarding classifying mods in terms of difficulty, I agree with Omega. The best way for someone to tell what they should do mod wise is to pick and complete a mod, judge for themself how difficult it was, and then decide from there what is within their abilities by looking for similar mods and procedures.
