Ok... a little backstory to start this off. Last weekend I won a stock Crossbow and Laser Fang in a lot of toys on Ebay for the staggering sum of $42 plus shipping. I'm quite happy with the Crossbow: it feels so good in my hands and is almost like new, from the stickers being in good condition to the string still being attached. However, in the year and a half I've been involved in the NIC, I've seen the value of X-bows go from high to obscene. There's no way I'm ever going to modify it and risk it's breakage. However, this leads me to the point of this thread. I'm wondering what Nerf blaster, other than the Crossbow, has the most comfortable shell. By comfortable, not only do I mean that it fits the hands well, but also has a stock that is long enough to be shouldered comfortably. I've been eyeing the Sawtooth for this purpose, but I'd loveto hear some other suggestions.

Personally, the Maverick is really comfortable in my hand, also the Longshot. Both have really comfy grips (Mavericks is a little better in my opinion, but both are solid) and both sit well. Having not ever held a crossbow, I can't speak to how comfortable it is.

Also, the disk shot gun is comfy. NFs have a weird handle that doesn't fit well in my hand, but the Disk Shot is nice.

I really like the longshot as well. It has a nice, long stock and a really great grip, in my opinion. The front of it isn't comfy, though, unless you add a shotgun grip.

I have a Titan on the front of mine, and its smooth and round, so it makes a pretty good forward grip.

Yeah, I agree with Slowguitarman. The longshot feels really comfortable, except for the front handguard area. To those of you who have done the DTG integration, does this make it a little better?
To Uber: Do you mean the Sm500 or 5000? The zero is fairly important there.

I have heard many different things in the means of comfort and the xbow is the top.

The next 99 in the top 100 is up for grabs...

In the means of availability and comfort, the Magstrike is pretty comfortable. If you like the FireFly, go for it. If you have an older gun, go for the LnL (I have seen a few in some sale threads).

It all comes down to:

Do whatever makes you happy!

Find out what you like in the means of comfort and what you need in integration space and go from there. In my opinion, the FireFly is pretty damn comfortable, but it also is a shitty gun with a lot of extra space. If you can throw a pump in there and put in blast chambers...Oh wall, it doesn't matter. The main point is that you have to work with what ever you know to work for you.

Edit: 6 posts in 10 minutes...Please read my post, it'll solve your problems.

Being one that owns both a crossbow and a sawtooth, I can vouch that they both are very comfortable. The only problem with the sawtooth is that it's stock is a little flimsy, nevertheless still comfortable though. The only problem with the suggestions people will give you, is that it's comfortable to THEM. That doesn't mean it will be comfortable to YOU.

It's your desicion on weather or not to mod your crossbow, but I say mod it. You'll have way more fun modding it and nerfing with it for another year, then leaving it stock and having it's value rise 0-50$. It's all personal choice though.

You're pretty much the exact person I was looking for. The Sawtooth will certainly suit all my needs then, as it has enough room for the integration I want and also looks badass.

To Lynx: Thanks so much for being so helpfull! I personally don't like the FF, but as you said, its all a matter of personal choice.

Aight, unless there's a ton of other people who own both Crossbows and Sawtooths and think Chilli is way off, my question has been answered.

Lastly, to anyone looking to unload a sawtooth, head over to my trading thread! I don't think there's too many of you guys, since my sales thread has sat dormant, but it's worth a shot.

Recon stocks suck.

Personally I find the Magstrike's stock nice enough, a little rough but it does the job. The Longshot's stock needs einforcing and the grip is a little small for my liking, but with PVC and hockey tape it feels great.

The Longshot is decent, but the stock doesn't extend far enough out.

Vortex Tornadoes have a rather comfy feel to them as well. Very Crossbow-esque.

Most comfortable pistol- LNL

I think the EaB is a comfortable "rifle" and the BBB.

Oh and by the way the SM500(yes 500) is comfortble along with the sm5000.

I don't think the sawtooth really holds a candle to the crossbow. Except maybe mine :P (writeup coming)
It is comfortable, but the stock is flimsy, and the ranges aren't the best. If you want to improve the sawtooth, you need to make an inline clip, or a breach, and integrate a longer range gun into it, like frostvectron.

Well I'm not planning on using any of the stock internals really. I've got big plans, and with summer coming up I can finally implement them.

Take my advice and don't use the stock internals. I have completely maxed out the power from this thing, and it gets all of 65ft. Id integrate a 2k or something, and make a breach or something. The stock clips jam soo much it isn't worth even keeping them, unelss for ammo holders.
Good luck.

Well my plan was to integrate a 2k with an inline clip/single barrel as the main firing unit, and also design it so as to allow the user to switch between the pump and an external HPA tank.

Something that has'nt been said yet, I like the Big Blast. It does'nt have a stock persay, but it's pump handle is curved, and it fits my shoulder nicely. And pumping it, is very smooth, and you don't get very much resistance until you reach about 8-10 pumps. The only thing I don't like about it is even without plugging the pump, it's trigger pull is a bit hard. And it has a nice foregrip on it. I cut most of it off when I minimized it, but it is still usable. Plus, in my mind, I think the BBBB is the best gun EVER for having a double barrel. And the pump shaft is very sturdy, and it does'nt move much if at all, so it can serve as a nice stock. And, Big Blasts are only $10.

~Bomberman.

Edit: And, I bet you could make the 4B pretty accurate with a PVC "scope" on there. Or get like a cheap airsoft or paintball scope.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

I would have to say the Recon.
I know it hasn't had a lot of praise from these forums, but I really like it.
Ever since I bought I have had it Jam once because I made it jam (Testing out other darts)
and I find it really comfy in the arm with the stock. Although, yes, the stock does need strengthening
it is still a good gun.

I'm actually pretty impressed with the ergonomics of just about the entire n-strike line. Perhaps it's because I grew up on the original blasters and then *shudders* the max force stuff, I've come to appreciate the more realistic grips. I haven't felt the majority of the supermaxx grips in a long time, so while they were comfortable back when I was younger, I don't know if they'd still be now.

Also, my girlfriend swears by her Airtech 3000. She loves the feel of that thing.
