It's not even a nerf gun. it's a Uber-snazy Megatron transformer figure.
I don't know if it ever was released, but who cares? it doesn't shoot foam, frankly it doesn't shoot anything.

I think I may have seen it in K-Mart a few months ago, but I'm not certain.
Actually, I did some research. It did release in 2006 as the Transformers Classics Megatron. It is on hasbro.com for $19.99. It isn't a Nerf gun though.

I've seen someone who has that. It transforms into a robot thingy, but I think it actually does shoot darts.

I believe you are thinking of the Optimus Prime Battle Rig Blaster or the Starscream Barrel Roll Blaster. Hasbro.com has it on their site and there is nothing about it being able to shoot and the contents list has no darts in it's contents.I've seen someone who has that.
