This is another theory thread. Just a functional dream with no specifics as to how to logically accomplish the end goal.
This particular loose concept has been suggested many times in the past year and there are too many technical issues for it to be possible.
1. The stroke of the self-regulating piston in the magstrike is only one inch. That's not enough travel to actuate anything.
2. It retracts too quickly for it to actuate a breech and fire a dart.
3. It cycles too quickly for darts to feed through a breech reliably. You would have to control its speed with a flow regulator. The resulting reliable cycle rate wouldn't be terribly useful and couldn't really be considered "automatic" in terms of firing rate.
Just use it as is. You really can't compete with the given configuration without starting from scratch.
Something I'm having to work on slowly in the ARR project. But that will be semi-auto and I've had to do a great deal of thinking, planning, and reevaluating in order to come up with something that I'm confident answers most of the potential functional issues. All that remains is for me to have better health and more free time.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?
