I was looking through my gun drawer, when I came across an odd looking thing. A Roto-Track. This thing has a 12 shot belt, and fires megas. It fires by pulling back on a slider ontop of the gun, until it clicks. Obviously, it's spring propelled, and it'd an odd one indeed.
I have no desire to take it apart, so I looked at what I could do with it. I decided to modify the clip. I cut away 4 barrels, and drilled a 5/8 hole in the back, for more air delivery. After that, I cut away the barrel, until I was left with the larger donut, which locks itself into the rotater assembly on the gun. If you can't understand that part, pictures of this, and other Mods I've been speaking of lately, will be posted in a new topic, most likely entitled "SB's Pictures" if you care at all about seeing what this all means.
After being left with just the donut, I hot glued a 5 in. PVC barrel to it, and gooped it for air tightness. I then duct taped it to hold it together even more. I took my locking assembly off of my gun, and then hot glued my new barrels to the rotater, which happened to have semi-circular cut-outs, the perfect diameter for the PVC. There are 4 slots in all, so I made 4 barrels. Since they are glued onto the rotater, I needed to sand away part of the handle to make room for the rotating barrels. The 4 barrels means lower ROF, but it is a semi-auto. I'm thinking of developing a speed loader for this, although, it is quite easy to reload all 4 barrels at the same time.
After all of this, I still haven't range tested, seeings how I just finished the Mod literally seconds ago. It took me 30 minutes with breaks to get it done, and it was quite easy. The only hard part was measureing the blasted barrels, which took alot of guess work, because I don't know what the power of the spring is. So, I would like feed-back, comments, and perhaps some one could tell me if I'm in fact the first to do this, therefor I've finally done something original, or if some one has thought of this before me.
Thanks much,
SB is out.

I would like to see some pics of what you've been working on.
This is one of the first time's I've heard about much interest in the Rototrack, but it was pretty common to do a pretty much identical mod to the Chainblazer, the Rototrack's little brother. I have 2-3 CB's so I might try this with one of mine, depending on what kind of range I can expect. Have you done any firing tests? Thanks for posting this mod however.

To me, any gun is worth taking a look at. Also, my arsenal is extremely small, and I decided to work on every gun, in order to hone my skills. I don't have much skill, considaring I botched my RB, which I frighteningly got working for get this, 12 shots, before what ever was working, broke, and ceased to work after wards. I've tryed everything, but now it's completely blown... but while it worked, I mangled a card board box, because naturally, I PVC modded it.
Back onto Roto-Track. I don't know too much about the "old" guns, but the CB sounds like something related to this. And yes, although easy, I need to work out some bugs in this mod. I need to figure out how to maybe increase the spring resistance, without changing the spring... because I am so not opening this thing up. I haven't ranged tested the RT in a closed space as of yet, but just fireing it in the basement (which is around 30 feet long, roughly, small house) the dart is well on it's way to 60 feet, with some skip on the ground. I will post statistics and such on Monday, when I plan to take pictures of all my guns at my friend's house.
I am saddened to find out that this isn't the most original of mods, but content with the fact that I was among the few that expressed an interest in the gun. Out of the box, this gun meant business, and with this mod, it means pain. I think you should try it, after I get this mod done and take pictures, if you need pointers at all, they will help. I'll show step by step cutting, drilling, and application of the new barrels. Since the mod is done, I'll just make another barrel, and rip off another one to show how to attach it, and I'll try for a picture of the handle that I cut off.
Until then, you can only use your mind's eye for this one,

Yeah, I think everyone knows what a rototrack is. I have one. It's really underpowered and horribly unefficient. You could try, though. You do know about NC, right?

Very under-powered... but it really doesn't hurt to try does it? It can't get any worse than the stock barrels, and I already see an improvement in range and power. Obviously, it lacks accuracy greatly, and I don't know how I can fix that yet. At least I tryed something new. I already did a brass/copper mod for it too, if you want to shoot micro stefans. Basically, I have 8 barrels made. And whats the NC? Judgeing by the fact that I don't know what it is, no, I don't know about it. Please explain?
