Well I got to wondering how one becomes interested in a hobby such as this crazy ass one. So I made this thread to see if any of us have a common interest or hobby, or at least close. I ride BMX, collect coins, collect old Schwinn bicycles, restore bicycles, take apart computers(for scrap), weight lifting, and survival is really interesting to me (like if you got stranded in the woods or something, not just everyday surviving... I'm not emo haha.) What do/did you guys like to do other then nerf?

My other main hobby, aside from Nerf is welding. I have an acetylene cutting/welding torch, an AC/DC Arc welder, and most recently acquired a MAPP gas torch. As for how I got into nerf, I enjoy the idea of being to apply what I've learned in my various physics and (occasionally) chemistry courses. I'd rather apply it toward my own amusement, rather than let it rot in my brain until I die. I enjoy the opportunity to experiment and see the results every Friday night; and if you're smarter than everyone else, then one acquires a significant tactical advantage.

Oh, I was also surprised by the large percentage (about 40%) of the club that are women.... that's always a nice incentive.

I was curious about this also. Anyway, I like freeride mountain biking(the hardcore shit like backfliping a 20foot drop(well Im not that good but you know what I mean)), BMXing and airsoft, oh and now actually like reading novels about mythical beings and Gods, Ive been through my 4th book over the weekend.

Believe it or not but I can actually getting into nerf on TV. It started when I was watching Mythbusters and they mentioned potato guns. So I researched potato guns and after about a year or two after that a link came up that led me here and I've been doing this ever since.

I juggle, but Nerf has been taking up most of my free time lately. I do sports etc., but nothing else unusual. Oh, and M:tg during the summer and vacations.

Usually the hobby which I can participate in most frequently with other people ends up taking over my free time.

Well another hobby of mine is rock climbing. I usually just go down to the trail a few miles from my house and climb up the hillside. The awesome part is when I finish I come out a few feet from my house.

I play drums and make guns out of knex. Since my parents won't let me ave an airsoft gun or a paintball gun I started looking at nerf guns, and then I started modding.

I play basketball, baseball, and football. Just got into this nerf stuff when we were hanging out at a friends house and found a crapload of nerf guns and shot each other with them. And then started modding them, and here I am.

I listen to Heavy Metal, I read graphic novels, I play bass, and draw. I don't draw anything in particular, I just draw. And I got into this hobby when I broke my leg and my mom was completely spoiling me and I had a certain urge to shoot things. So my mom bought me a Disk Shot set, (though I wanted a Longshot) and Googled nerf one day and got to this site.

I'm a drummer, which takes up quite a bit of my spare time. I've started a Nerf gun modding business which has become very successful ever since it started last week, I'm planning on doing this through High School.

I'm also a bigtime athlete. Not much on Shot Put or anything, I'm a sprinter and a jumper. I try to keep myself in shape and the track meet at my school is just over a week away so right now I'd consider sports and athletics a hobby.

If I can ever find a scanner/time to make a deviant art account, I'll upload them and send you the links. (None are copies, but I do have one that I made roughly a month before C&H came out with one, almost DEAD ON to what I drew. Not bsing, I saw it and seriously thought they somehow stole it from me. But whatever, I do use their style so we're both thieves in my book.)

I play paintball and airsoft a lot during the summer, I play football, I build things whenever I can. Some ideas just get planted in my head and they don't leave until I do something to get them to make the transition from my head into the physical world. And on top of all of this, I have a girlfriend who eats up most of my time and money.

I've also been playing and taking piano lessons for 6 years. I donno if you can call it a hobby.

Sorry to get off topic, but that's some awesome stuff you got there. You made that whole space animation? That's pretty sweet. I'm a COMPLETE noob when it comes to editing/making pictures. So to me, thats cool.

I play baseball, and I really like Remote Controlled Cars. I made a thread about RC cars a couple of days ago. My baseball team just lost our 3rd game out of 4 games last night though. And the terrible thing is, I pitched, got 6 strikeouts in 3 innings, and got a triple. And we still lost! (Only by two runs though.) Anyway, sorry about my little play-by-play.
