For better looks on the rail you could cut up one of the recon rails and attach it there.

Trevor - does that mean you're going to go through with that mod, rather than just telling us what would look good?

I've got a similar project, so I guess you could say yes.

the Longshot is too bulky and short to be considered to look like a Barret .50 Cal. What ever, your fantascy.

It's definitely a start, man. I highly recommend adding a brick suppressor, at the barrel's end, if you can. For my LS Halo Sn1per Rifle (which is HEAVILY inspired by the Barrett) paint/mod, I got an empty nail box, and put my PVC pipe barrel through it...now with the paint on, it looks amazing. The suppressor, in both rifles, is a trademark, so adding it would really help to make it look like what you want.

We here at nerf haven try not to revive old threads (as in a month or older). Just letting you know.

Oh, sorry. I replied because it was a subject of much interest to me, and one on which I wanted to comment. I wasn't trying to revive it for no reason, or give it a bump, if that's what's being insinuted. If that's something the moderators don't want, perhaps there should be something in place, so that posts older than 30 days are automatically deleted.

Sometimes people post on old topics for good reasons, though. Maybe I did some heavy modding on a longshot to make it look like a .50 cal and I want to post it here instead of start a new topic. It is also nice to be able to browse through old topics. It is also much easier to use your ability to read to keep you from posting in old topics, rather than have the moderators bottle feed you. This isn't an angry post, I am just giving it to you straight.

Well, I guess my question is, to Kid Flash (and to you, as well, if you agree with him, slowguitarman): what's the big deal? If I added a post to this thread, since I'm interested in the subject, since I had something to add to it, and didn't just bump it, what's the big deal?

Straight from the coc:
Don't post in months-old topics unless you have something significant to add.

Hmmm, I certainly thought my post had "something significant to add"...guess that's your opinion that it didn't...

You didn't really have all that much to add, really, to be honest with you. Most of it was just "O THAT LOOKS ILL DUDE" with an already-stated suggestion at the tail end. But, if you must get pissy and demand what the big deal is, here you go:

Don't post in months-old topics unless you have something significant to add.

It's called the Code of Conduct.

The suggestion that all posts older than 30 days be deleted is beyond retarded, by the way. That means nearly every writeup, painting guide, modification tip, paintjob photo, all of it would be gone. If you haven't noticed the lack of wheelchair ramps, we are not retard-accessible. Since you may have also noticed the lack of emergency Midol in the vicinity, note that we aren't snappy bitch-accessible, either.

If you lash out and get defensive when someone very politely corrects you over a necropost, then whatever. Take a chill pill and get back to me.

The reason I didn't post before now was because I knew you probably made an honest mistake. You're new. It happens all the time. But when someone politely corrects you and you lash out, that's strike two. When another person corrects you a bit more firmly, and you deny all wrongdoing despite having violated the CoC, well... What's one number up from two, again?

Well, then I guess that's that. I thought this forum was kind of cool, when I stumbled across it, but from what I've seen--from the moderators to the "pissy" and "bitchy" posters (myself included, evidently), who seem to like to humiliate newcomers by correcting them in-thread, instead of PM-ing, as has been done in TWO threads now, not just this one--this is just another forum that contains mostly decent folk, but has such a vocal set of losers, who take such joy in overseeing their little fiefdom of the internet, that I regret having wanted to become a member. Enjoy enforcing your "retarded" rules, ladies and gentlemen. I have no doubt there will be much hooting and hollering, once I've closed out my account (yeah, I won't be waiting for what will most likely be an inevitable deletion by mods).

I sent him a PM- I did overreact considerably, now that I think about it. If he's not willing to accept my apology though, then... fine. Let him leave. But he looks like he could be a valuable asset if he ditches that thin skin.

I hope he comes back, but if he's not willing to, I'd rather he didn't.

I don't know who appointed everyone in the last several posts to become thread moderators.

I don't interpret a three-week post addition to be a "necro"... really, I don't.

Hammer of Cortana made a decent comment, nothing related to the "O, kewl" types of post additions. Most of them are pretty obviously, "O, kewl", because they are posted that way, as though a six-year old had posted it.

To have tried to give the impression that he had maliciously posted kid-gibberish, re-worded to be quite decent, and then to do the whole "intellectual wheelchair ramp" deal... sorry, that was lame and ran-on too much. Effeminate fail, guys.

But Hammer, I for one won't delete your account. I only delete accounts of members who choose to make the boards painful to read. You seem to be fine. Don't go emo on us. Stick it out and hang in there. We're a bunch of rough-around-the edges mega nerds.

And post some pics of your HALO "douche bag" rifle.... we've been waiting since February for them.

That's because you're linking to the page instead of the image. Try this:

And for images not on an image hosting site, simply right-click on the picture and select 'copy image location' from the drop down menu. The url of the image will now be stored on your clipboard. You can either paste it into the reply box and wrap it in img tags, or hit the picture of a tree at the top of the reply box, and paste it in the resultant pop up window thing. Hope that helps.

Hi guys, since some of you may know, I am sadly leaving nerf, so I never got around to finishing this. I'd love to see someone continue from where I left off. Who knows, you might see me back some day.
