I need some major help with a project I'm working on for US history. We have until Tuesday to make a project about the Civil war. Me and my partner decided to make a game using HTML. The game idea is to choose a leader of the Civil war (U.S Grant or Robert E. Lee) and fight through three battles. I have the rules page made-up and I have the leader page made up. The problem I'm having is getting the leader page to link to the battle page. Now this isn't flashed based or like any actual moving things, its a click to choose your option type game. I guess you could call it an interactive interface. So I am asking for help from anybody with experience in HTML to help me out. Its not that complicated a project and I could e-mail you the HTML if you need to see it. And if you need more details I can post them.

I think I'm the resident HTML expert. What all are you using? Some serious javascript? Server-side stuff?

Its not really a flash based or java-script game. Its more or less a click the link, it goes to the next page, choose your leader, goes to the next page, choose the battle, goes to the next page, so on and so forth. When you get to the leaders page is when I have problems. When I go to choose Robert E. Lee it just loops back to the same page (yes I have checked the link tag). I need it to go to the battle page where you can choose Bull Run, Antietam, or Gettysburg, but it won't link there.
( This is the Choose your leader page....) "<html><body bgcolor=maroon><font size=7

Alright so thats the Leader page. The Color code is Blue green is text to be displayed and orange are links. I think it might display it just as the text and not make it the page.
Yes a double post but this the U.S Grant battle page. There are no links here because I haven't started the choose your military moves page."<html><body bgcolor=black><font size=8 font

A few problems:
1. "<a href url=…" should be "<a href=…>". The "href" is an attribute, meaning 'hyperlink reference'. This is probably causing your immediate problem.
2. The code is a mess. Writing valid code isn't really very hard, and it will save you a ton of time in the end.
3. Having a separate page for every possible combination of general, battle, decision, and what-have-you is going to saddle you with a shit-ton of pages.

Well the thing is, if I had a week or two to do this properly, I'm sure the code wouldn't be such a mess. And since I am redoing the page from Military leader on, I think it will come out to be a smoother experience. And plus I'm not that well versed in HTML so I can't really do anything advanced. What you saw above this is probably the most complicated thing I've done with HTML so far. So thanks for the help and now I must start working on it again since its due tomorrow.
EDIT: Alright, because of Thom's help the link now works. Thanks Thom I really appreciate it.
And to clear up somethings about the game. It is based on an almost linear outcome. I'll break it down like this:
Introduction Page
Choose Your Military Leader Page
General Battle information page (name of battle site and date)
The Choose your military action page (run, stand ground, call in reinforcements etc.)
Out Come
Link back to General Battle Page
