We can tell that it's your first post from your apparent lack of minding the CoC. Please clean it up. Your idea is a little confusing. Pictures? Those might help.

Sorry ty23, Ro-Sham-Bo has a point.

I'm assuming you mean that you want to combine the power of a spring and an airgun. If you're looking to do that, well, good luck. You'd have to have them both affect the dart at the same time, and getting the timing right might be a pain in the ass, although definitely possible.

If you're looking at having it fire from either air or spring powered, that's a little more do-able, although you might have to sacrifice the range of either one or the other since you'd have to have a connection from the source that is not directly attached to the barrel, which would result in some dead space.

Do yoou mean you want to make a gas blowback? The longshot is already spring powered and air pushes the dart.. It is like a spring powered bike pump.

I meant i wanted it to fire like a normal longshot and the get hit by the air in the barrel. Sorta like you fired a dart with a spring and then the dart gets hit by air from the back of the gun.

Oh I think I get it. The dart gets launched by the spring ad then it gets hit by the air making it go faster. If thats it, that will be nearly impossible to get them both to go at the same time.

So you want it to funcition as a regular spring gun then when the dart is in the barrel the air gun will add some extra 'oomph" to the dart.

Do you mean you want to have the planger start the dart moving
,and then the airtank act as a booster kind of like how multi stage rocket work???

The timing required for this would be tough. You would probably need a solenoid connected to an airtank, which would have to be connected into the plunger or barrel somehow. From there, you would need to have a switch that engaged the solenoid when the plunger had traveled a given amount to add the air. I can post a picture of what I mean if you like. Really though it would be better to just leave it or just have air power, not both.

I get it.

You mean the spring hits the dart and then the air hits it too. This is a common misconception. The spring does not actually hit the dart. The spring pushes a pump fast and the air pushes the dart out of the barrel.

I tried a Microsoft paint sketch of this, and I didn't come up with anything coherent. Typically, air powered blasters get slightly better range than their springer counterparts. If you were going to make one, I would suggest making it air powered. There has been at least one other topic about this before, and it looks really doable. You integrate an airtech 2000 into the plunger chamber. Go to the search function and type in air powered longshot.
Good luck

If you can't even convey your concept clearly and have to force people to play 20 questions then you should not start a topic and should instead just GO TRY TO MAKE IT. Report back when you have it working.

In fact, people should not be posting "I have such and such idea" threads anyways because most of the time they never result in a working blaster.

All of that aside, your idea sucks.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

That so needs to be added that hilarious quote to my signature, while playing with my butthole; but I have to agree with Slug. Why would you want to boost it with the Titan? Just shoot it with the Titan. Or just the Long Shot. This isn't practical or even beneficial. But, keep plugging away with the spring/air powered hybrids (I have one in the design phase) and you may come up with something neat.

In case you haven't given up:

Posted Image

Basically, have an air tank to a solenoid to the barrel. Then set up a switch inside which is activated by the plunger moving in. When the plunger goes past the switch it would be pressed, releasing some air. Too much work for me but if you want to give it a try go ahead.
EDIT: Thanks for the pic CS.

analogkid has a good basic idea, you definately will want the forward movement of the plunger/indicator plate to trigger your air tank. You could probably cut away some room under the barrel to fit your air tank and the pump. All in all you will probably find that you're wasting a lot of what makes each of these guns good. The titan is good for it's power, the longshot is good for it's rate of fire. If you need to pump it up between each shot then you're giving away the advantage you had by using a longshot in the first place. If it does come together I hope you find a way to allow it to function with just the spring to allow for the rate of fire you need in certain situations. If you can somehow accomplish all of that while maintaining a decent accurracy and range, then I think you'll see a lot of imitators, myself included.

Good luck.

Agreed.

With ty23's proficiency at a computer, if it's indicative of his modifying skills, I'd say scrap the whole idea and get back to playing CoD4 or whatever the hell the young gamer dweebs are into right now. A project of that magnitude needs someone with at least Sluggy's level of experience, and well, you've heard the Slug... he thinks it sucks.

So until then, we free our brains from this exercise in endless (and mindless) speculation and frustration.
