Can I reinforce the LS's bolt sled by e-tape or duct tape rather than epoxy or plumbers goop?

You can try, but it will barely do anything to the strength of the bolt sled.

Electrical tape and duct tape do not offer any added structural integrity. You should instead consider making buttressing piece out of thin ducting aluminum or galvanized steel. Then epoxy those pieces to the bolt sled.

What if you put a hell load of tape, would that work? Because I only have duct tape and e-tape.

The amount of tape that would do any good would probably end up hindering the function of the gun, in my opinion.

To be honest, I'd say don't even bother until you can get to a hardware store and possibly purchase some metal strips to follow through with Slug's suggestion(s).

Provided that you haven't done anything to add any more stress to the LS (extra springs and whatnot), then you should be fine in terms of not having the thing blow up on you, at least for a short while.

Electrical tape provides insulation for electric currents. Duct tape, thanks to those little fibers, resists tension. Unfortunately for you, that's it. All duct tape would do is resist tension in the directions that the fibers run. Affixing metal strips increase the strength of the bolt sled in compression and torsion. Mostly everything you need you can find for fairly cheap at a Home Depot or Lowe's. But tape doesn't resist the forces that are actually on the sled, so you may be out of luck.
