I had this idea to make a nerf gun that use an air compressor.
Like one of ther heavy duty ones.
the one that wiegh alot.
it is hooked up to an air compressor.
I thought it would make a pretty sick weapon.
air compressor
One problem....
How can you carry an air compressor around with you.

Maybe as a turret or placed in a hiding spot.
or maybe....
carry it on you back.
but you would still have to have it pluged in.
I don't know.
I could use help.
thanks.

Im not ganna use a bladder to store the air.
I mean like add a barrel to the type part with the trigger.
I ahve a nozzle that has a trigger to let the air out so just ad a barrel.
pretty much.
right?..........

Thanks , CaptainSlug

also sorry if this idea has allready been used.

I guess I will scold you in Haiku format, since you seem to like that:

Air compressor is
Counterintuitive to
The spirit of Nerf

Usually. I know Captain Slug did it, but it was more of an experiment. At least I took it to be that way. And, not to backseat moderate, but:

Please do not post things
That have already been said
It clutters forums

I have one on the back porch that I use for testing purposes so I don't waste the tank fill when I'm just tweaking things. I also use the one at work for this.
I never really bothered to mention it because it wasn't at all important. You simply need an adjustable regulator, an output pressure gauge, and some kind of hookup to the internals of the blaster.

Please work on improving your post quality. The Code of Conduct outlines the expectations we enforce in relation to post quality.

Most Nerf automatics can safely operate at 60psi.
Most Nerf single-fire pneumatics safely operate at 35psi.

Tubing for both types are max rated for 70psi, but I would avoid going that high because of the error margin of most pressure gauges in that range.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

You need to punctuate and proof-read, people don't appreciate it when you don't.
As for your question, I believe someone hooked up a Rapid Fire 20 to a mini-compressor so they could instantly fill the tank. I also tried taking a tek 6 turret and trying to use an air compressor to fire stock darts with a friend one time. It worked, but rather predictably, the darts were destroyed in the process. So you can use compressors, just don't do it because it's unnecessary, and heavy, and a bunch of other things.

Rather than a bulky compressor why don't you build some sort of air supply that comes from a back pack. Just have one or two descent sized pipes and a pressure gauge. It will do practicaly the same thing and you could use it. The wieght might get anouying though. I made one myself, its a small version to the one im in the process of finishing. I'll get pictures up later if you'd like.

Been there, done that. Works great.
