So, let me get this straight. You pump the air into the gun, then put the barrel on? And the barrel also doubles as a beating stick? Then, you push down on the barrel fast to release the air pressure? God damn, that's nice. Where did you get your spring?

I'm afraid this weapon supercedes Ragornock's SF-Gunblade in terms of H2H/Nerf gun hybrids. Good work, 3DBBQ.

Very nice design. Thanks much for the schematic drawings at the bottom. Where do you get all your parts?

3DBBQ is just on top of things. Everytime I check out the nerf board, he creates some new invention. Nice work BBQ!

By the way...
Do you have a group of friends that you have wars with? It would be awesome to see the difference in one of BBQ's wars from one of our own.

Agreed. That probably has a much better constuction. I got more range, but the 9 dart blast would be much more devastating over the 6 darts, and that has more of a "blade" feel to it. Kudos to the beauty of your foreign materials and skill.

That design is fairly simple, but the way you put it together is far better than I could have ever imagined. Great job, you make the coolest homemades.

what i am thinking is if you can incorporate that air release design. it would work better as a mine. still with the brain power of the nerf community we could pull it off

3DBBQ, you take good-looking nerf guns and power and design to a whole new level. Designing something is easy, building it is a whole new paradigm. You could make a fortune selling thsoe on the NIC. Praise be unto you.

Incorporating that air release design as a mine would have the same problem..it would far at the ground..and it would be too big and easy to spot.

Incorporating that air release design as a mine would have the same problem..it would far at the ground..and it would be too big and easy to spot.

Usually, it isnt the whole nerfing community that does something, for example, ZERO did his homemade designs as his own, Stefan invented the stefan dart as his own. Anyone who has created a mod has most likely created it by themselves. Although, working off someones old design would be the NIC working together, only if lots of people pitch in, and usually the person to create such a design has thought about it long enough to fix all possible bugs...

Designing something is easy

Designing something is not easy, if youve ever designed something very complicated, its not easy, I spent weeks on a design for a very complicated homemade, the only reason I trashed the design is because I came up with 3 more designs where I spent much time on all of them, and they were all better. Then I came up with 1 more, which is not really
a homemade, but just as hard, and this one I am in the process of building, and it elliminated ll bugs from my previous designs. Im sure there are many more people who have done even better designs that have been more complicated than others, and sparked whole new ideas.. (boltsniper, Zero, sniper5000) those are just a few, and were lucky enough to have ZERO still with us and boltsniper possibly...What Im saying is, could you ever design something better than this or this?
I think what you meant to say is this:

Designing something worthwhile is hard, building it is just as hard.

I understand your point. What I'm saying is that most of us don't have factories, plastic molds, etc. and building things, making them line up, etc. can be a pain in the posterior.

Yah, hate to burst your bubble, but most of the homemade valves you claim to be made by zero, a large part of the work in it was done by Caddy, from what I understand.

Hmm, good thing I checked the boards in amongst the vile exam study. Excellent incorporation of an air gun into a stable padded beating stick, 3DBBQ. Nice use of a simple valve for the firing mechanism, it's a lot more intuitive than others have tried, or the ball valve that would (or will) inevitably be used in other designs. I'm suprised VACC, or one of our resident NJ'ers, haven't attacked the choice of firing mechanism... They're all about "phallicy."

As to THIRST:

Ever hear of Adam Smith's concept of "The Invisible Hand?" It implies that all selfish effort to the gain of the individual distributes to advantage the community. But with such an open bed as this forum community, where ideas are freely shared and debated, most ideas are no longer the work of a single person. Granted, Stefan had a really good idea, but I'm sure there was some precursive stigma to it, such as previous debates of what a good building material for homemade darts could be. I know all of my ideas are essentially recycled amalgamations of ideas that have proliferated about the boards, combined with my own personal experience. Integration is what knowledge is all about.
Those valves? I didn't even know (or at least care) about O-rings until I heard them referenced by Spoon regarding a plunger homemade about a year or two ago on the old white Nerf Online. That semi-auto valve was very much influenced by the ideas of Cadmond, when I discussed the idea with him, and even the basic two-O-ring, trigger rod concept, stemmed from an old shell design (kicking somewhere around my site, presented later) which he helped shape.
And actually, the best design improvements are often from external sources. An excellent case would be the ball valve homemade; Open knowledge led to Lemmypoo (This was after Balthamel's similar idea, I should note) suggesting the simple, but apparently elusive idea of using two ball valves, and a large auxiliary tank, in basic ball valve homemades.

What am I saying?

The Homemades forum is getting an abnormally large amount of use. Bravo! Maybe someone will make an automatic by the New Year!

Thirst, using that that exact set up, it would fire at the ground. You'd just need to rearrange some things to make it into a grenade.

Sorry, I didnt realize, I shouldnt have said anything.

Neonerfer,I figured out how to make it a nade. All you would need to do is make the thing shorter where it lands on. Then add some vinal tubing to where the air comes out of and connect it to a long barrel capable of holding many darts (9 or less). Tape this barrel to the side of the nade. Then, add a large cardboard plate ontop of the part where the gun lands on to fire, cutting a small slit into the middle to feed the vianl tubing throuhg so it doesnt get into the way. Glue this down. Also glue soem weights on top of the cardboard so it is more likely to land top up and on its bottom.

The only problem is, since I dont have the gun or a valve like it, I dont know how much pressure your putting into the chamber, and how much force it would take to fire the gun, but my guess is that my idea wont work because throwing it at the ground might not be enough, but its one to work off of, but I dont know why we US people would, these materials are unavailable to people in the US, I dont Know bout Canada or Australia. Even though I dont care much for Nades, I hope soemone makes one, If you can understand my idea, post some suggestions.

Again, sorry for being ignorant.

Hey 3D just wondering if you ever thought of selling these guns on EBay? I think you could try and proably make a good deal on them. You are an insperation for all homemade builders with your awesome designs and work you put into making them look so cool.

Nah, they're in the US, Canada, and Australia. You just have to look through a large hardware store, that's all. I'm pretty sure that valve is homemade, by the way... And with the proper rubber washers, it could easily be done. Seriously, check out a Home Depot or other major hardware store's plumbing section, and be amazed.

It's the getting-off-the-ass part that's challenging. First-hand experience. ^_^

dont want to detract from 3DBBQ's sales [which would be astronomical if he decided to sell] but alls fair wen u post pictures and that but he hasnt really posted in depth plans, sure lately he has used basic diagrams and he averages three word sentences [no offence, i know your learning english and all] but the whole point of the NIC is to share designs and project ideas and show each other how to build them....

i hated to say that because i just sounded SO bitchy but i guess i had to, and i suppose there was also a better way of "asking for plans" because his other guns are just so sexy, no offence man, i still love ur guns any day, just look at my full list of accomplishments in nerf:
