I have to say, I don't think you're labeling of people based on botched mods is correct. The best modders are those who have tried and failed so many times that they've gotten pretty damn good at knowing what works and what doesn't.

If someone had about 100 modified guns, wouldn't it make sense that they would have messed up on a lot...Just because you mess a lot of mods up doesn't mean your a bad nerfer.

I butchered a SM3000. I unscrewed everything and, surprise surprise, I couldn't put it back together.

Yeah, I screwed my AT2k up like that. I tried to unscrew it all. I stripped all of the screws, then my sister knocked it off the table onto concrete...and it shattered.

I screwed up my AT3K. I was lucky, I was able to single it and make an okay rifle. Medium range, very accurate.

A Memo to: Everyone that said `0' (currently 1/3 of the responses)
From: Cxwq

How many original mods have you performed that resulted in a significant improvement? Call me a cynic but following instructions successfully doesn't impress me all that much.

original
adj.
1. Preceding all others in time; first.
2. a. Not derived from something else; fresh and unusual.
2. b. Showing a marked departure from previous practice; new.
3. Productive of new things or new ideas; inventive.
4. Being the source from which a copy, reproduction, or translation is made.

I was the first to brass a tech target gun, I didn't make a write up but I did anounce it.
Any way I screwed up my blastfire and my brother screwed up his old version of the sm3k. My strong arm got really messed up but it was still better then it was before.

I...Well... Had an accident with my friend's "Super Dremel".
He put 4X the normal amount of batteries on th' frigga:

I was working on a Secret Shot I. I was just clearing out some fuzz left over from Hacksawing, and My hand Slipped. It cut the whole gun in two, vertically.

That's too cool to be counted as a screw up.

I remember back before internet modification pictorials existed. I remember when the most concrete instructions you had were to use rubber bands and stretch springs. I just think a lot of the originality has been drained from the Nerfing community. I mean, we basically have Cxwq creating new methods of improvement, and dozens of kids blindly applying these methods to new weapons in a round-peg-to-round-hole fashion. You were the first to brass a tech target pistol? Well woop di fucking doo! Did you actually use any form of ingenuity in this enterprise? Adaption is an important skill for the purpose of creation, but it is not the act itself.

Heh, as for originality, I mangled my SM5K trying to copy Cxwq's mod, too bad I'm a horrible "modder". And as for revolutionary, I used to think taking the orange junk off of a BBB would ruin the gun **ducks**.

All my mods are original. The guns are too simple to get mods off of the Internet. I mess up many, but some are great. I'm just too lazy to put them on the NIC. Im gonna document them and put them on my website soon though. To quote myself as here it is appropriate: And not a single one of you cares.
