EDIT: Just want to point out, again, that this is a simple modification directed at beginners. I have already moved onto a more advanced mod for it by replacing the barrel.

Well, I just got the Buzzbee Big Blast.
Posted Image

And like I do with about any gun, I first looked to make a simple mod at first and then move onto more difficult mods. I haven't seen a write-up on this, but I think a few people have done it.

EDIT: As the below replies show, this has been done before and I apologize for posting the idea again.

Stuff you need:
Big Blast
Screwdriver
Hacksaw or other implement of destruction

To start off with, open up the gun. You will need to pry off the front orange piece with a flathead screwdriver. Other than that, it's pretty simple.

Then take out the pump/tank/barrel unit.
Posted Image

At the end of the barrel there are 2 holes and an orange piece. Saw off the barrel, right behind the holes.
Posted Image

Screw it back up, and you are done. How easy was that?
I left the orange piece on because I like to keep my guns halfway legal.
The barrel has a slightly larger diameter than medium walled PETG, but fires stefans pretty well.
Posted Image

Range is 55' flat, with a stefan. Also note that the over pressure release valve has not been plugged. It can still shoot the stock missile, about 35-40 ft.

I plan on replacing the barrel and doing other work, but this mod is for the inexperienced modder, or for one that has few materials and tools.

Why is everyone always so down on ice. Where is your 60 fucking youtube videos all about modding nerf guns? So what if his voice is different. I am sure we all are different in some way. On topic (unlike some people) nice mod! Very simple for the newer crowd.

I've discovered a unique way to increase the barrel length for this gun. I don't know why or how I thought of this, but you can add a few inches to the stock barrel by cutting the end off of a toilet paper holder and sliding it over.
I used this holder.
Posted Image

Just take the smaller piece and cut off the part that obstructs the barrel.
Posted Image

Then slide the wider end over the stock barrel, and you have increased the barrel length by a few inches. It is a perfect fit, and doesn't really need to be glued.
Posted Image

I have found that it increases accuracy, and increases range by about 10 feet.

Just FYI, I'm doing this stuff just to experiment. This is another mod that is just easy and cheap, perfect for newbies. Once I finally quit experimenting I will settle on a better, more permanent overall modification.

Frankly, I've wanted a BBBB before this post. Though this post doesn't help.

What is wrong with his ranges? he said 100 feet not a 1000 feet.. It's a BBBB? Honestly you need a different barrel if you can't clear 90 feet with a stefan. Ohh done with an unplugged pump.

As for the OP, please go to home depot and pick up a coupler. It will make reloading easier.

Are you talking to me? I realize that this mod is not very good, but it's quick, easy, and simple for newbies. But just because it's not very good doesn't give you guys the right to go off on a tangent talking about something else totally unrelated. This is not the thread to be talking about Ice. If you want to do that, do it over pm's, or start your own topic. But your conversation doesn't belong here. It would be different if just one or two comments were made about it, but when 10 posts are made concerning nothing related to the original post at all, it just isn't right. I have been here for only about 4 months, but I am still pretty sure that this is forbidden in the code of conduct.
Sorry that I ranted a bit there. This wasn't necessarily directed at donz or anyone else in particular. It's that I am tired of this shit happening in my threads.

And donz, if I can interpret that last line correctly as being directed at me, the diameter of the barrel is wide enough that a stefan slides down on its own. So there is no need for a coupler at this time for reloading purposes. And as I stated earlier, this is a preliminary mod to this gun, I will be completely replacing the barrel and will do other mods later. I am just experimenting for now.

Sorry for the comment about Ice, I personally don't know him but there seemed to be a lot of misinformation on the thread which could mess up a beginner modder's brand new gun. I neither know or support Ice, but his claim on this post of 100 feet is quite plausible, so I really didn't post anything off topic.

As for Stephen, I know you said you have a "simple mod" or a "beginner mod" but you mod isn't that good, or that original, no offence. First off you dont' have to open the gun to cut the orange tip off the barrel, careful use with an exacto knige cutting around the glued edges will take it off easily enough.

Second, the inner barrel of the BBBB is too large for a Micro which is about ~12-13 mm. The dart sliding to the bottom of the barrel is evidence that it is too lose. This is the reason you are getting 50 something feet. What you want is to have a barrel which will hold the dart snuggly. It should ot move around in the barrel and will require a push to get in. I won't get into length, but it has been suggested about 12 inches is ok.

If your darts are snug, at max pressure (untill it starts venting air), you will atleast have a cardboard piercing gun. ohh it will also easily dent drywall so becareful.

Stephen again this is not against you, take it as a pointer as to where you can go with this gun. You said you are a beginner modder, so what you learn from this gun will transfer easily to other guns. ie good barrel selection.

I personally started where you were, and it's not a bad start. in the end I have a coupled BBBB that has a telescoping brass barrel, about 2 inches of 17/32 brass, then 10 inches of 9/16. (depends on dart, may not work for you) I think you can do better, and if I did it again I would use PETG with CPVC on the outside, maybe a 17/32 section on the inside. CPVC is seriously durable and PETG is cheap.

If you find a better way or have questions post it up or PM me. I'm not the pro on here but I will help if I know the answer. Ohh I almost forgot, what is the goal for the gun? it is important because my BBBB sits in my room collecting dust, no one I know whats to nerf against it because it hurts at close range, and I feel bad for hurting someone. Also I really don't want to put more dents in my drywall.

Alright guys, just watch your replies. Let's try to keep it somewhat on topic, eh?

As for donz.... Keep in mind that people have different sized darts. I know some people that have weird micros that are snug in 9/16 brass; mine slide like white castle burgers down, through, and out of your digestive system.

So for reference SC, your darts should be able to slide, but there should be little-to-no space between the dart and the barrel walls. So it should be on the verge of needing a very light shove to go down, but not anything too forceful.

Although I will admit to using constricted barrels for some of my air guns. I don't know why, I just tried it one day and it gave me abnormally high ranges with my AT2k.

Also, feel free to PM me with any questions or complaints you may have, SC.

I realize why I am getting 50 feet. This isn't a good mod. Just something I discovered that I thought would help out beginners. I have already done other complex mods that have turned out rather nicely. But I haven't posted them since they weren't original; I wouldn't have posted this if I was aware that it had already been done.

And just to let everyone know, I've already moved on from this mod like I stated I would earlier. I have replaced the barrel with a foot long PETG barrel and I am working on encasing it in PVC. And now it does punch holes through cardboard. In fact, I still have a welt from where I shot myself in the arm last night...with cardboard over my arm protecting me.

Also, ompa, if I read your last line correctly, I should alert you or another admin if I feel that something like this is happenning again and needs to be corrected.

Wow people told me this in my writeup but the big blast internals looks exactly like the spy gear signal launcher's.
