Today was a great day. The weather was pleasant, the turnout was good(roughly 10-14 all day), and game play was intense.

The first location of the day was pretty rad, I look forward to playing at Santiago park again. And I finally can call myself a Real Man, as I have finally played at Venado, and Man did it feel good.

All of the "New" kids kicked Major Ass Props go out CannonBall, Axelion_burnout, soccerdog, and the Awesomematic Raw Shrimp.

Pretty much every round of the day was pretty evenly matched and they often lasted quite long, It was amazing.

Props to Cheese-boy and his wanting to host a war in Teh OC.

So Highlights:
*Finally being Able to Rock both the Pink and Orange Headbands (finally found both of them)
*Eating Shit in the first round, having all the guys on the other team ask "are you alright" responding with "did any of you hit me" and promptly shooting two of them after hearing "No"
*starting out with my newly modded Jet Squadron, only to discover that without plugging the pump, it's pretty a the suck.
*Cheese-Boy's Little Bro and Evan hiding in the women's restroom.
*Moment where Falcon and I are holding off the opposing team from opposite sides of a large tree and yelling "Someone grab the camera damnit! This probably won't happen again!"
*The trouble getting everyone parked in one place during the lunch Break.
*The adventure of trying to backseat drive as the second car in a caravan, as falcon promptly got us twisted around all crazy go nuts trying to leave Santa Ana to go to Venado.
*Kicking everyone's ass with The Magic Stick (yes Falcon, that's it new nickname) My National Geographic Roto Rocket Shooter that I modded as a ballgun, not using nerf balls, but those party favor knock off mini vortex footballs.
*Going to target after the war and buying three more packs of said Party Favor Footballs.
*Getting both a Face Shot (Cheese-Boy's little Bro in the forehead) and A Legal Ricochet Shot with said ballgun (using nerf balls, which we've allowed to have one bounce and still count as a hit) in a single round.
*Watching Arturo wail on everyone with a blowgun.
*Getting to be on the same team as Falcon Three times.
*Hubbard going all spiderman on the playground near The Alamo.
*not being the first person out of a round Once the whole day.
*happily handing out the most loaner guns I've had to in a LONG time.

I didn't shoot that many pics that came out in focus, as everyone was constantly on the move and I didn't get much chance to get really close to the action (most of the time I was out rather late in the round) But here's what I can share( I know Falcon Has some too):

^I thought this was going to be Best Pic Of the Day (yes, this was an actual In-Game Pic) But That goes to another pic.

^This needs some explaining, Arturo Shot this stock dart about 50 some feet away with a blowgun, early in the first Deathmatch at Venado, It didn't come down till someone took it off the wall at the END of the round, over 20 min later.

Now this won best pic of the day, A special message from Hubbard To the Easties coming to Geddon:

This war was wicked awesomeness! I'm sad I had to leave early with Soccerdog813, because it looks like we missed out on a lot of fun at Venado. Hopefully Falcon posts a few picks that I'm actually in, and that one of the deep puncture leg wound. It was great to finally meet some of you guys, and I'm coming to Armageddon with Soccordog813.

By the way, Arturo is deadly with the blowgun, he shot me in the temple from like 40 feet away.

A word to any easties who might be reading this:

I know it's been said before that So Cal just isn't as competitive as the east coast. I understand where you were coming from at the time; there were more committed nerfers in the east at the time. That is still true.

But at Armageddon this year, I think it's safe to say that any "competitiveness" and general skill that the west has lacked before, we will not be lacking this year.

This war was the best I've been to in about two years, save Armageddons. And I had more FUN at this one than either of the last two. We had a fantastic attendance, full of fresh faces as well as old friends (and older friends.) And the level of play was incredible.

Soccerdog, Axelion, Cannonball, and Raw Shrimp:
You guys MADE that day for me. I'm pretty sure you made the day for everyone by coming. You boosted our average attendance substantially, and forced us lazy asses to get our rears in gear.

The day was fun and full of highlights, but none of them were worthy of posting when I thought about this one:

The easties picked a great year to bring the whole family along. Armageddon will NOT be a cakewalk for anyone. Not after what I saw today.

Looking forward to seeing some of you again, perhaps at the next YANO! Until next time, gentlemen.

They'll be often enough. Don't worry; we've got you covered.

Hit your co-worker harder. Maybe it'll help.

As great as I hope I did, I only had one problem. EVERYTIME I ever saw someone walk around the corner with Aa gun, wether it was my one teamate or not, I flinched. Even the guy, sorry if i don't know your name, with the pump shotgun chased me out of bounds.
But it was really fun, looking foward to the next one.

That was me, and it's quite alright.

Highlights:

-Doing the best I ever had at any war,
-(this is news to all I think) needing stitches in my shin for that wound. Now how many people do you know need that after a nerf war?
-Just generally having a great day shooting the shit outta some friends and new faces all day.
-Oh yea, and Falcon's failure at driving. Needing to back up after coming to a light when he realized he was in the wrong lane...

When will your pictures be up, Falcon?

And Bags, was that runner up for best picture right after I shot him on the gun, after gouging my leg and being chased by 2 other people?

Man it was a ton of fun. I'm definitely down for any other socal wars. Everyone played really hard and kept me on my toes the whole time. I'm really bummed that I didn't get to hit the second location with you guys. Next time I guess.

Highlights for me:

Shot in the noggin by sasquatch in the first round of the game. It still kind of smarts

going out of my way to avoid getting hit by Bag's ball gun. So many close calls.

many many more.

Good on ya Cheeseboy for hosting a good war. Looking forward to the next.

I don't know what happened to this one, but it looked kinda cool so I put it up anyway. Well, cool and retarded.

Arturo's rear, Cannonball, Raw Shrimp, and Soccerdog/Axelion, the 1500 users of the day. Fact is, we had a TON of older guns floating around yesterday. Crossbows, mantas, 1500s, even a yellow SM 3k. All sorts of goodies that we don't see too often in socal.
Posted Image
We had enough people that, outside of Armageddon, we used marking tape for teams for the first time in over a year.

There's one before it, but Caff is the next fairly BIG war... but if you're gonna treck down from NorCal, I'd highly suggest schlepping out for Armageddon.

Indeed, especially when they need stitches (that was my leg, just so you know).

How many people do YOU know who can say they got stitches because of nerfing.

man, i feel a bit late for posting (thats what you get for not having any internet at home...

any way, can you say, "IT WAS A BLAST?!" I am so happy that it turned out so well!

MY highlights:

*Evan, with the Dorkiest eye-protection of the day
*Having Bags and Falcon on my team
*Brother vs Brother matches, where twice my brother and I chose teams
*Having Falcon chase me down, and, after him blocking my 3k 3 times with his manta, finally getting through and taking him out JUST before he had the chance to take me out with his Manta.
*some one was using my Crochet gloves, other than me!! :D
*finding out my 'nitch' in nerfing (moving away from my Magstrike and using a 3k)
*running into Raw Shrimp around corners and both of us almost team shooting each other EVERY SINGLE TIME.
*seeing hubbard go nuts
*making about 200 darts the night before and not comming home with any of them... *le sigh*

thanks guys for comming! there WILL be more Nano's, seeing as how there are people, other than me, that play in Orange County. yay!!

i'll be comming out of this here "noob business" soon enough.

noobiness is serious business
