Are you using the right size screwdriver? A phillips driver that's too big will be more likely to jump out, rounding the edges.

When you unscrew the screws, try not to strip the screws as much. I did this alot when I first started modding.

Buy a Size #0 screwdriver. Trust me you're probably not using the right size.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

I know it's probably not the best solution, but when my screws piss me off like that, I just take a drill to them.

Craftsman makes bits specifically to take out stripped screws. I don't know if one exists small enough for nerf applications, but you could always try that and replace the screws.

And is it me, or does Hasbro use some pretty soft metal in nerf guns?

I used to have that problem a lot. I found a flat head screwdriver and it was perfect. Try to find a right size flathead. Now I just use a flathead. I find them more reliable.
