Hey, 3 friends and I are looking for a place to make T shirts for our wiffleball tournament. As you can tell, this is a SUPER serious tournament and is super fun.

We are looking for our names on the back and maybe a number. Plus the team name on front.

Does anyone know a good place to get this done? A website?

a good place to do your shirts through from my experience would be Cafe Press, you can get full color printing for a decent flat rate price. I know that a lot of the NIC use it regularly. I could design the shirts for you, but I don't do stuff like that for free (freelance design is what I do) but I can at least point you in the right direction.

another good place would be Spreadshirt they'll do direct screen printing of text if you want, it gives you some more options than cafe press, but their prices can get heftier.

We want the names and numbers on the back and a logo and team name on the front. And we want the T shirt green.

Is that for Just the design work, or including printing the shirts in total?

I work as a freelance designer and illustrator as well, and I've used Zazzle.com multiple times with repeated success. I used Zazzle for the infamous "East Coast Mother Fucker" tees that the ECC wore out to Armageddon last summer. They're digital prints, pretty nice ones too. I'm in the process of designing custom silkscreened Nerf shirts to sell with OMC this summer as well.

Zazzle? I haven't used them before, how would you compare them to Cafe Press?(i know you own a Nerf Haven shirt I honestly thought that's where you got the east coast mutherfucker shirts from, it's where I've done like 90% of my custom orders in terms of shirts. They sound pretty similar, digital full color prints and whatnot...

My Zazzle prints last a lot longer through multiple loads of laundry, at least a lot longer than my Cafepress ones have ever lasted. Plus the turnaround time is pretty fast. Not sure what Cafepress offers in terms of printable space, but I'm thinking Zazzle offers a slightly bigger area, and lots of different shirt options, some cheap, some expensive. At any rate, stick with what you know and what you are comfortable with.

Cafe Press's quality BLOWS. I have used zazzle before, including last year's East Coast Contingent shirt.

You might also want to consider Customink.com. They do team shirts for a reasonable price.

I'm mostly familiar with Zazzle through their large scale printing services, which when they first popped up were the only online offering of their kind.
I used the percentage earnings from large print sales to order a few T-shirts and they are indeed of much higher quality than the Cafepress offerings. I can't vouch for durability differences myself since the shirts were ordered to be given as gifts, but the difference in the quality of the color depth was very obvious between the shirts Zazzle made and the shirt Cafepress made.

From just that I probably won't be using Cafepress anymore.

For quick-turnaround shirts I usually just make them myself.

I really will have to give zazzel a try. although, I'm starting to think you easties just don't read washing instructions, as I have Cafepress shirts I made 3 years ago that are still solid shirts that look fine, i really only have one shirt that hasn't lasted the test of time well and it never printed that great to begin with. Which from what I can tell, was pretty much my fault, as I didn't double check some of the spot colors before I uploaded it.

although currently I've been leaning towards doing some stuff with spreadshirt, just because you can upload vector graphics(three color limit) and print in colors/textures you can't get from a digital printer. Like fucking glow in the dark and fuzzy screen printing. Heck yes.

I haven't had any durability issues with my Cafepress shirts either. The color depth and contrast of the Zazzle shirts is just vastly superior. I suspect Zazzle has both better equipment and more experienced staff because every image I have used to make a product through them has turned out phenomenally well on the end product.

I've been designing shirts for about 10 years for a team trivia event I particiapte in. I've been using silkscreen for the past five years or so...very durable, and reasonable for one or two color designs. I've gone though a local screen printer rather than online, but the spreadshirt.com capability of using vector art has me interested. Of course, I'm usually making forty or fifty shirts at a crack, so online might be a better bet for sour wiffleball shirts. Still, it may be worth making a call to check out local pricing...I've done some nice two-color silkscreening in low quantities (six or seven shirts), and it came out to maybe $16 per shirt.

Yea, I've been looking at Customink and it's REALLY cool. But the minimum order is 6 and I only want 4....

No, but the shirt shop I use does. It's a setup cost per color, then a cost per shirt to apply the color. For names and numbers, you can use standard transfer letters, so you wouldn't need a screen for each name. I've done low quantities of silkscreened shirts, and it came out below your per-shirt budget, so it may be worthwhile to check with a local shop and see what you can find.

My Yellow Pages has it under "Screen Printing".

I use zazzle for black tees (because as far as I know they're the only ones who offer them) and Skreened for everything else. They're pretty laid back and custom orders are usually no problem whatsoever- PM me if you'd like to see some of the stuff I've done with them.
