The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Yeah, I go through KY like it's going out of style. I love the warming...oh wait...you mean Kentucky. Nevermind.

Sorry, I'm dense at times - I missed your previous post. Sounds like a plan.

imaseoulman, the more the merrier.

Longshot Welder, the only person I can think of that will be coming from that direction is Nerf Monkey. And even so, I'm not sure if he's passing through Kentucky.

I may not be able to make the 24th. I have responsibilities that might tie up that weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to get down there.

Updated the original post with Rules and a nifty little graphic for those unfamiliar with the layout of our venue.

-Groove

P.S. ~ Tyler, I'd really like to see you make it down here, but if you are booked don't sweat it. I'll be seeing you at the LCM Summer Tune-Up war the following weekend.

Looks pretty sweet. I just google earthed it and it looks like it is mostly close quarters combat. For those of you that are familiar with the field, do most battles occur in close (within 50') range? Do you have to walk around the buildings to get from one side to the other or do the wooden pathways/ramps connect? Or are there other walkways? Thanks.

It's kind of hard to illustrate the location in just words, but I'll try. There's a field in front of the buildings pictured, which wraps around to the right of the portables and leads to a small basketball court. There is also a wooden staircase on this right side as well, which connects to the main wooden walkway down the middle of the portables. You can either:

+Run in front of the buildings in the field (long to mid-range)
+Run through the center wooden walkways (close to mid-range)
+Run around back behind the buildings (extreme close range)

Depending on how you play and what weapon setup you're using, you can do a number of things. That's why I love this field.

So just to clarify, is this is the 'new' labrynth? The one we were at for the Fall DCNO?

Nevermind, I see it is.

I am definitely a maybe, and if I come I will bring 1 - 4 people with me. I will update this when I find out for sure. I have to make plans on how to get there, but once I do that and they get the seal of approval from the Mother lady, I will be packing my bags already.

Also, if anyone is interested, I think this is a birds eye view of "The Labyrinth". For my own curiosity, could someone highlight what areas are actual part of the playing field.

Thanks Groove

The area in red = "The Labyrinth"
The area in yellow = playable area
The area in blue = staging area

Parking on Luckett St. is probably best as you can just mosey on down the hill to the staging area. There's also a parking lot to the left of the field as well, so either way you'll have good parking and little walking distance.

The blue area you highlighted is the pod I had to climb on-top of to retrieve Ted's Nitefinder that he threw up there after winning the quick-draw round.
The staging area is the brownish area with picnic tables just south of there.

Excuse me, but why did I only first find out about this war by Kuhlshrank, while in a state I won't mention, this very afternoon? I'll be sure to get back to DC for this one.

Here is my previous post with the photos of what this venue looks like.

Hope everyone who hasn't played it before likes how it looks,

I am interested in coming, all the way from Chicago.

Things I need to know:

1) Where should I fly into? Stay?
2) Is it possible someone could pick me up from the airport/return me to my hotel?
3) Ship my guns to someone's house so I don't have to deal with the airlines?

Looks like a lot of fun. It would be cool to meet all you guys out on the East Coast as well.

1. Dulles Intl, is going to invariably be the cheapest option.
2. Most hotels near Dulles Intl offer a shuttle service to/from the airport (just call them and ask). Cheapest ones being nears Dulles Intl ($60-$85 a night).
If you want to crash in my basement I live only a 15 minute taxi ride away from the airport. You can hitch a ride to-from the war then fly back Saturday night or Sunday morning.
3. PM me for address if you don't still have it.

You can put me down as a definite, unless something comes up. I may or may not be coming down with Maryann as well. It all depends if she has to work that day or not.

I still have memories of the last time we played there.

This'll be the first time we've had someone fly in for DCNO, so I'm looking forward to it. Glad to also see we'll be having some more regulars come down for this one as well (Cranks and badger, I'm looking at you). This is indeed shaping up nicely.

I have word that a modicum of representatives from the UMD contingency plan to attend. Limited primarily to those they know can follow rules.
So put down Squishy +2 to +4 as definite

I will be in attendance, assuming my manager doesn't "forget" that I asked off.

Locals, represent.
