Well, I think I found RED FBR online. I'm not totally sure if it's real red FBR or if it;s just the picture. I tried to email them a couple of months ago, but They never replied back. So eh, here you go.

Well Foam Backer Rod comes in many names. In ACE, it's called Caulk Backing. In other places, it's called Caulk Saver. In our community, it's called Foam Backer Rod. So if it has most of the words, such as "backing" or "backer" or probably something linked to caulking, it most probably is FBR. I wouldn't recommend risking it though.

Yes, it's really red, and it's essentially the same stuff short shit and Forsaken have sold us in the past.

The same, as in the same consistency and size? If so, I'm ordering some.

Well, it looks pretty cheap. 6 bucks + shipping for 50 feet of red FBR? It makes me feel stupid to go to ACE for my FBR.

Woah woah woah. NO that is NOT the same stuff.
The foam rod typically used for making stefans is closed cell polyethylene foam rod.

The rod in that link is marked as being polyurethane, which typically is NOT available in anything except open cell.

Ya know, it seems fairly similar, I'm willing to take a shot at buying some. and Judging by the materials, it will wear down just like the other red fbr I've seen (I've owned both Short Shit's and FA's) I'm willing to give it a demo to let you guys know if it's legit or not.

If you're looking for alternate color FBR, Aloghomestore.com's White FBR is great stuff. Super durable, I've used it more than once, and it's by far the best foam I've ever had, In fact, I have a few darts that I made of it from the second CAFF(is that three years ago now?...wow), and they're still in great condition.

I'm on board with Bags on this one. I just recently tried CaptainSlug style darts (w/ washers and felt) and they worked great in PETG, but the heads were a bit snug in my CPVC (could just be because of how I made them).
The white foam Bags is talking about is great stuff. It is incredibly durable and much firmer than anything else I've worked with.
For long range air guns I still prefer half length CTD's with 1/4" steel slingshot ammo in CPVC. For everything else, there's white foam.

As long as that foam is closed cell it might work. The stuff I sold was polyethylene. If that foam is closed cell and is as hard and thick as the white foam I think we may have all found a new supplier. Possibly good find.
So bags are you going to demo this stuff?

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,

But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Totally Game. I just hope it's a little more durable than Your old stuff and Short Shit's.

I'll post a review once I get some of this stuff. Making an order today.

shipping is not free, they simply don't post it's cost on your orderform. because of difficulty making shipping estimates. plus there's a 4 dollar handling fee, but It can't be that bad, it's just foam.

Like I said, I'll post a review on if it's worth it or not for everyone else. (I should get it in three Days)

I just Got web tracking notification that the foam just got delivered to my house, I'm at school right now, but I'll give you guys a full review of this foam by the weekend, although, I'd probably won't put out a final verdict till NANO, when it will get war tested, but I can give the just of it before that pretty easily. Look forward to giving this a try!

It's also worth noting, that I have not received any additional charges past the 7 dollars (price+tax) as of yet.

No problem, It's actually Really nice gray foam, it's very dense, should make for some nice durable stefs, and it's fairly pale, so it should show up better then some gray foam does, it also straightens nicely and cuts really clean, so I can't complain too much. If this stuff WAS red, it would be AMAZING, but as it is not, it's just Quite Good.

I give this the Bags Seal Of Meh.... (Pic Pending)
