I been thinken that I've proply spent 400$ on nerf and I realy don't know why I do? So I'm asking why do you guy nerf for me I think it's the quick paced action.

I Nerf for the love of modding, and making homemades. I always need to best myself... and I like helping my friends out with their guns, and seeing a smile when their mod is done. That is why I Nerf.

I nerf for two reasons. One, it's cheap. Paintball and airsoft suck. I've already spent hundreds of dollars on my earlier hobbies of trading card and miniature games. I decided I need a healthy hobby, that involved some form of thought. This is something I've done all my life but only unmoddified. I love the war game aspect, and when I switched to airsoft and paintball, I was just not walking away from the battle feild satisfied. So nerf fits.

Second reason of course is tacked onto that. Paintball and airsoft were basically pussy fights. I didn't like it because you couldn't get close to people, there were no stand offs to give you time to really evaluate the situation and corperate your own movements. Now I'm sure others will disagree with me here, but when it boils down to it, they're both just too expensive.

400 bucks seems like a lot of cash, perhaps you should re-evaluate your budget. I have a very tight budget, when I go to wars, I have a set amount I can spend. I don't carry that much in cash, because of course, then I will spend it. What you may need to do is set yourself up on an allowance. I allow myself about 25 bucks a week for nerf. Now I also don't spend that money on a weekly basis and allow it to carry over into the next week. This means at the point I'm at I could spend 237.74 on nerf right now without going over that budget. This now pays for all kinda of crap when I go to wars. Now I pull a significant amount of money in per week with freelance computer technical support, investments made in an online game company, as well as my day job at Stanely Steamer a carpet cleaning company. I have a fairly full plate with these jobs, but with my schedule I pull in plenty to keep myself on my toes, but I'm only attending a technical school, so thats easy as pie.

Basically, take your weekly income, no matter how low it maybe, and make yourself a budget. Your right though, I think your spending way to much.

I nerf because I'm not allowed to get a paintball or airsoft gun. I like nerf alot, but I haven't fired a gun in a month or so. If you have alot of free time but a tight budget, nerf is perfect. I have very little patience when it comes to modding and planning things out, I'm an instant gratification kinda guy. I'd rather spend money on a paintball gun and now have to worry about it breaking like a nerf gun is prone to do, but for now, nerf works for me. Eventually, I'll just buy a paintball gun and I'm sure that very little of my time will go towards nerf, and my over protective parents will have to deal with it or take it away. For now though, as long as my parents are supporting my hobbies, I'll be nerfing.

To be honest the best thing about nerf is the flexiblity of making or modding your own personalized weapon.

My friends and i paintball. But we nerf to build our paintball skills. You can nerf in your street but you cant paintball inyou neighbor hood.

SO basicly i nerf because i like modding and it helps me build my paintball skills.

i nerf because its the only way someone like myself who is just about to turn 15 can shoot friends and etc. LEGALLY and have fun at the same time, and also the satisfaction of hearing your dad scream when you pop him in the head from behind...

its also great as it puts all the stuff revolving inside my head into context, all those designs and psychics fundementals can be put to use on something not so nerdy...

What the fuck is this question for? It pretty obvious, Its a cheap easy way to shoot the shit out of your friends. Modding is fun, but wars are and should always be the real reason for nerfing.

I nerf because...well...I'm not really sure. It just has so many appeals. For one thing, I think that I's awesome to take some massed produced piece of plastic and turn it into something of basically your own design. Or C's. I also like it's relative cheapness, and how great it is to fill up an otherwise empty, boring afternoon.

I personally enjoy modifying the guns. Something about being able to make stuff better on your own is a lot of fun. Thats the main reason i started nerfing. Nerf has so many things holding you back in terms of when your fighint, like awful aim, minimal range, and slow reloading. So when you can do things, on your own, that you come up with to fix some of these problems, you've got a lot that you can do. And it usually involves duct tape. Everytime i would go to wars, I could see all the problems I would have and plan to fix them. I'de usually wait until the night before the next war and do a lousy job if any. But at the next war i could see how things worked and what didn't. Nerf is comletely open to costumizing. I think it would be great if homemades were more welcome. I've heard the reasons why, but i think the disadvantages could easily be solved. Its not a terrible problem however, official nerf guns are diverse enough to apply a huge amount of ideas to. They serve as a nice base from which to start with.

Mainly because...........IT'S FUN!! and I like to shoot real stuff at real people and watch them twitch when they are shot. It's pretty funny.

I had a one or two guns when I was in middle school in the early 90's. These eventually got lost or broken and I didn't have the place of mind to ever try to mod them. Fast forward to my second semester of college. I joined a student org that was dedicated to playing a live acton RPG that used projectile based toy guns for side arms. Needless to say I immediatly had a need for nerf guns. As soon as I had a pair of SS 2's which were new at the time, I went online to research other guns, found Nerf Online and discovered modding. The advantage I gained in having better weapons in my LARP fuled my love of Nerfing, modding and the rest is history.

Now that my LARPing days are mostly behind me (I miss undergrad), I mostly like nerf for the sheer joy of scareing my room mates when I shoot random objects in the apartment.
