Do you mean a Brass Mod'd splitfire with our normal stefans? a nib splitfire? your splitfire with your darts? it matters because they all differ so much 
Plus how LONG is the pump? 6"?
I assume that you sand either the PVC or the Pumps barriar to get a nice fit, and then just glue the mother in with epoxy or PVC goop. Its an interesting technique, im going to try it out in the near future

ill be honest, i have never actually made a homemade i just know and understand what works and what doesnt, in phsysic and coolness terms, adn i like to dismiss or hail certain designs, but i seriously dont know what valve 3DBBQ is using on his homemade sexy sexy beauties....

They are a special kind of threaded ball valve. At Lowe's. $6.50 for one. Dude, bring all those to war sometime and open a can of "uber-sexy whoop-hiney!"
