I also have the Master Blaster, a Ballzooka, and 2 or 3 Pulsators *grimace*, but none of them get used ever, really. I might repair the Ballzooka and use that, because its handle comes out at inopportune times.
In general, I don't think ball guns have very much use in an outdoor, spread out Nerf war. But for indoor skirmishes or ambushes, don't count them out.

But in all seriousness, I bought one back when they first came out, hoping it would be like my Master Blaster, but with more smooth of action. Since then, I've got 2 of them off Ebay, when they come with better guns in small lots.
The Pulsator is probably one of my least favorite guns, but instead of melting them down into raw materials, I'm working on a mod. I have enough room for error, anyhow. Number 3 is the charm.

I never bought any of the rotation-firing ball guns, like the Ripsaw or the Cyclotron. Anyone have experience with those?

I have the Ripsaw. Its a ballgun...they are all alike. The sound can be pretty intimidating though...and if you can feed the balls into the gun fast enough it can be like a rapid-fire gun.I never bought any of the rotation-firing ball guns, like the Ripsaw or the Cyclotron. Anyone have experience with those?

You could try to give the balls hop up. Put a small piece of tape on the bottom of one the inside of one of the barrels, so the ball slows down on the bottom and gets back spin. Airsoft guns use hopup and get better range with it.Im getting my hands on a masterblaster which im very happy about, and im gonna try to get a ballzooka and compare them. I was thinking of trying to mod ball guns also, maybe add some type of rifling to the barrells to give the balls some spin which would result in better accuracy and range. Just gotta find time.

i found something like a mod for a ball gun. there's a gun called the reactor which is a lot like another gun (can't remember the name) anyways the gun comes with four balls for it, but it can fit six. if you put six in it'll be harder to use but it will fire farther and harder. however this gun is already not that accurate. If anyone finds out any mods for ball guns, please let us know.

The question of ball guns has intrigued me of late, since my younger brother recently purchased a Reactor. Noting its abysmal accuracy and range, we tried to come up with a way to justify the ten dollars he had shelled out for it.
The answer also addressed the age old question of nerf grenades.
Turn the Reactor into a "grenade" launcher. Rather than creating a rule that would be difficult to enforce, such as "if it lands three steps from you it kills you," we chose to instead allow ricochets to count as a normal hit, but only with ball guns.
Let me tell you, trying to dodge four nerf balls bouncing around in a small room with hardwood floors during an indoor war is quite a task. It also makes you think twice about taking cover in the corner behind the bookcase.
Nerf balls don't bounce much, but they do bounce, and it's won him a few games, and made his ten dollars at least somewhat useful.

i own both a pulsator and a ripsaw, and i must say they are quite fun to use in a war, the ripsaw is suprisingly accurate in low/no wind, and the pulsator is just plain out fun, i find rushing with it to be fun as it's hard for them to dodge when they dont know where it will go
