I've noticed the Plasma Rifle from Halo looks much like the Magstrike backwards,, and the Magstrike looks like the Powerclip. Is it possible to make a complete switcheroo so the gun shoots from the back and also increase ranges?

If you want to use the gun's clip system, no. I suppose you could take out the clip and redirect the airflow to the back of the gun via some PVC, but it would be tough to make it look aesthetically pleasing. It would also be tricky to rearrange the trigger mechanism to the back of the gun. I'm not exactly sure how these modifications would affect range. The fact that you would have a better seal between the barrel and the air bladder would increase range, but the longer airflow due to the redirection may decrease that range. If I had to guess, I'd say the increase would outweigh the decrease, but you're sacrificing rate of fire to achieve that.

If you plan on seriously doing a modification like this, take a look at Forsaken Angel's Longshot to Lancer conversion. He put in some serious effort to make the replica spot on. The mod you want to do is certainly possible, but would take a great deal of time and patience to make it look good/preform well.

Coming from the hobby of making prop fire arms and replicas. I am going to have to say your idea is rather close to impossible. The magstrike is nothing like any gun out of Halo any resemblance is just mealy on rough configuration. Not really base shape.

If your convinced you want to do this I think the powerclip would be easier to convert. But even that is a stretch. Its closer to the needler then the plasma rifle.

My suggestion if your set on this project is to build a shell for the plasma rifle and stuff Nerf components into the gun.

Thats my semi-professional two cents.

Also, vague idea threads are largely extremely erotic in this community, so unless you really plan on going somewhere with this, you should not post about it.

I was going to decide whether to make a mod like this depending on replies. I guess I'm going to need some experience first.

Just wondering are you sure your not thinking of the Needler form halo?
