Back in november, I found this online game called Urban Dead. It is a free brouser-based MMO. You are trapped in the city of Malton beginning as a zombie or one of various surviver classes. If you are a zombie, you run around and try to eat people. If you are a surviver, you barricade buildings, look for ammo, heal people, revive dead people, and other tasks in the quest to rid Malton of the zombie menace.

I joined one of many surviver groups, Phoenix Security Services.

Continuing to use the same username for everything, I'm Jedijoe9 in UD. Currently, I am a zombie wandering around, screwing with survivors and bringing down barricades. I've got all of the human skills, so I'm kind of at the point where there is not much left to do.

JediJoe9, i think being in a group makes things more fun because you have a meaning to your actions.

Newb tips: stay inside at nightime, don't run out of AP when you are outside, and get melee skils and free runnigh first. I don't know about tips for new zeds though.

If graphics is what you want, get the UD toolbar (only for firefox).

Okay, so how do you get inside a building? All the ones I've found are "heavily baricaded." I only have like 12 AP left.

To enter a building, it has to be very strongly barricaded or less.

Barricade Level Strength
1 Loosely barricaded*
2–4 Lightly barricaded
5–7 Quite Strongly barricaded
8–10 Very Strongly barricaded
11-13 Heavily barricaded**
14–16 Very Heavily barricaded**
17–21 (And possibly higher.) Extremely Heavily barricaded**

You might have better luck with non-resource buildings.

No, but you are probably at least a little bit safer (though not much)

One of the best skills to invest in is "Free Running"- This allows you to jump from building to building. Once you are in one building, you can get access to the heavily barricaded ones.

I tried that out because it sounded cool. I was totally disappointed. I was 9 at the time and it just was so boring, I was instantly a zombie.

Has potential to be really fun too...

I don't get this game. I get inside something that is "heavily barricaded" and then I get clawed multiple times and end up dead.

My question is...

Yeah, that is pretty much how people die. A mob of zombies brings dowm barricades and kills people. So the trick is to find the place the zombies aren't going to break into.

To be revived, find a cemetary and stay there until you get the knocked over screen again. Someone injected you with a "necrotech syringe" which revives people.

Joining a group speeds up this process, because other group members will prioritize the revives to the group.

Also, how much EXP does it take to get Free Running?

And how do you set up barricades?

And where do you find mroe med kits/pistol clips?

Is there a guide which answers all these questions?

1. You can look at the various skills by clicking on the "buy skills" button. Free running happens to cost 75 exp
2.To build a barricade, you need the construction skill, 100exp
3.Med kits can be found in hospitals or malls. Ammunition can be found in police stations, malls, and fort armouries(there are only 2 forts)
4.You can either refer to the beginner's guide or the FAQ.

The map of Malton is also very useful.

Okay, thanks alot.

This game looks interesting, however tedious and not-so-visually appealing it may be. The only part I don't like is that you can only have 50 AP, I wish you could pay a horrendous amount of EXP to get it higher.

EDIT: Also, which do you think I should start working on, my doctor or basic-arms-training soldier person?

Combat gives you exp faster.

I like the 50 ap thing because you can't do something unless you really need to. Like a form vs a chatroom.
You have to plan out your moves instead of blurting random crap out.

Um okay I got revived by a necro-syringe, but now I'm "infected", is there any way to get rid of that?
