Well, I was modding my sm 1500 a while back and i finally got around to finishing it but i ran into a problem. There is a little greyish black peice inside the valve that sits on the tip of the firing pin and is supposed to block the air from getting into the barrel but that small grey peice has come out of its spot. It is rattling around inside the white valve shell and I have tried without sucess to shake, prod and pry it back into place with pens, toothpicks and small screwdrivers. Does anyone have a way to get it back in position?

Ooooo. The last time one of my 1500's did that, I ended up cutting the air chamber in half, re-seated the "donut", and put it back together with Plumber's Goop, and tried to get it to work again. You probably know the result.
It became a very nice demonstrator model. Non-functional, of course.
Sorry, everyone I talked to about this had the same answer. Find another valve housing.
Good luck with the fix. Wish I had a better answer.

Check out the fit of the outside of the valve. For the sake of ASCII....
Either way, that portion there. I believe some close fits are 1" PVC Connectors/endcaps (a bit too loose), and thus 1.25" PVC (should be a close-to-perfect fit, pending inside texture... Bring to store, test).
Either way, that should allow you to cut up the middle of that section radially (around the valve, probably best cut with PVC cutters or similar radial cutters), reattach the piece, and rebond with the mentioned outer tubing, in conjunction with Plumber's Goop.
Should.
In my experience, all that's happened to my SM1500 valves are deep cracks in that back plastic cap (from which the trigger rod protrudes), so this is merely a recommendation. All else fails, showpiece, right?

Honestly, why even have a code tag if you're not going to make the font ASCII? Silly Invisionboard. If your font actually is ASCII, then:
