READ ALL BEFORE POSTING

Tell me the name, and blaster type. NO RESERVES UNLESS YOU HAVE THE GUN DIRECTLY IN YOUR POSSESSION. Show me picture of your homemades, and I will decide if it is a real gun or a piece of crap.
I will post the info next to your name. If your gun has the same name as someone else's I'll post it if I think it's good. Work out the details amongst yourselves.

Seriously? I mean, I already die inside a bit when someone sticks 4 pounds of hot glue and a piece of cpvc to ANYTHING and decides to name it, but now we have to get permission across the interwub to use a made up gun name for our random 4 pounds of hot glue mod? This just seems extraordinarily lame. Fail with an extra side of retarded on the side.

That being said, I reserve full rights to... let see, Werewolf Thunder is the most retarded name I can come up with off the top of my head. I'll sue you and come kick your door in with a home invasion crew if you use my name. And cry.

What about Groove's 'Show off your Xbow' thread? There are sooo many damn gun names there! But Direct Threat's right. This thread is somewhat stupid. But I have an AT3k named Samantha, and will at some point be giving her a painjob. Hopefully something like Black And Candy apple red. And the Human Samantha (a girl I went to school with) had candy apples let me tell you... *drooling daydream...*

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

Just to avoid getting pissed I reserve Crossbow 1, Crossbow 2, Cactus, and Weapons 1-75. And DTC.
We should stop calling out/making fun of/pissing GC off. He's actually contributed and is available for trade. He's a better than average member no doubt. Got your back Cole.

Agreed. Honestly, I don't see a reason to name a nerf gun. I can see this thread going down quick but I could be wrong.

Direct Threat, you are right. While that last remarke was a bit unnessessary, I do realize that can, and certainly will happen. I am just trying to even things out a little. It is not particularly getting permission for names, but it's just that people would like to have uniqueness in their names. For example, let's take a look at that thing recently with VACC against that guy with the crappy pvc gun. that one post by the guy ballooned into a giant thing. VACC definately deserved the name, but if something like this had been set up, that never would have happened.

If people would like me to change the system, than by all means tell me so. This is just an experiment, and a way to keep track of things. No need to get all upset.

I can see a reason, it's fun, and it designates the gun as, at least in the creator's eyes, being unique. That said, I think some people on this site are just a little possessive regarding the names of their guns. If I ever do a mod (highly unlikely) and name it, for argument's sake, "Katie" (my girlfriend's name) I honestly wouldn't care at all if someone else used the name. Same goes for any other name, for that matter.

I'm in no way upset, I just cringe every time I surf the mod/paintjobs thread and see some new name and how someone got the inspiration for it. I'm sharing my opinion, and thats all.

Have you guys ever noticed that I only give names to the guns I feel worthy of a name?
Doomsayer
Eyes of fire
Lancer ( I guess this ones kinda named itself)

The Mega pistol was more of a joke. It was named before I even modded it based on the size of its plunger tube.

I am going to have to strongly agree with direct threat here.

Honestly, the only time I have ever named a gun was when I was selling 30+ mavericks a month. It just became easier to name the color schemes and make a catalog to point at, and then later an ebay store. I mandate (with no authority whatsoever) that if you go out and buy a scary/goofy mask, spend a bajillion hours making a revolutionary mod, video it, sinc it to in flames or something and load it up, you then have full permission to name your shit whatever.

Also, eat your wheaties and pump iron. Yar!

If you people want, I can kill the complexities and just have name, blaster, name originator. No details or anything. It would be less work, and everyone could work things out amongst themselves.

There is no ownership on a name. I can call a gun Samantha. My name, for example, could be Luke (PN's name), or any of your names. You own the gun. A piece of plastic, hot glue, and metal that has become special, but special through the physical object itself (unless it is your GF/BF's name, etc.). The name is how you address it. Can I call dibs on my name and say "everyone else called ******** must ask me permission for this name" or can the ones who named me do this? No. And for good reason.

Along the lines of FA's thought, the only names worth really broadcasting (I mean no offense, but think about it) are the ones attached to an incredible piece of work. My "Phantom," the shotgun that has been in the bowels of development hell (It will rise, once I figure out what I'm doing and get off my lazy ass again) is "named". But it's a design. Paper and graphite. It's not worth telling everyone who visits the forums "Hey, I got the Phantom zomg!!111!" if it isn't some awe-inspiring little demon that is important in some way as a contribution to the NIC. There really aren't many that care. You do, that's all that really matters (cheesy romance/moral-infused/fruity dose for the day).

Screw it. I'll cut out the details, just the name, blaster, and name "creator". I don't want to have to deal with any more of this. Work out the details amongst yourselves.

No sarcasm, the internet is a funny thing. I really do think, joking aside, that unless someone puts the amount of time, effort, and presentation into a mod that you do, that I don't really care WHAT they named it, only if its workable or not. But when I modded my ertl 12 shot shotgun, I knew exactly where to look, the name stuck in my head, and I got a good chuckle out of your video. It was helpful, but I get a kick out of the mask and music and what not.

Internet leg humping aside, I don't post too much here, so I figured I would post about one of the few things I DO care about other than painting (and my moderate amount of modding thats not worth talking about).

I only name stuff that's likely to be discussed at wars, that way it's easier for people to ask questions and I'll have some kind of idea what it is they're talking about.
The idea of "reserving" names just seems stupid to me because your gun named "Gerald" or whatever isn't going to become noteworthy because of its name.
So far I've chosen some of the most unexciting names imaginable. If your gun has the same name as someone else's the conversation only becomes slightly longer because people have to say "so-and-so's Gerald gun was opinion based adjective". Big deal.

You're not naming your children here. And even if you were I'm pretty sure there are a few million Muhammed Alis, Wen Zhangs, and John Smiths in the world that lead normal productive lives despite having boring names.
