[The Infinite Shindig]

For those of you who haven't heard, there was a shooting at Northern Illinois University earlier today. If you are the religious type, I ask that you pray for their campus. If there is any way that you can reach out to their community, please do it. I can tell you from experience that it certainly helps.

Dang...Virginia Tech was just under a year ago, too...

My prayers go out to those who were killed (and injured), as well as their families and friends.

Damn, that sucks really bad. Thank God it wasn't at UofI, I've got a friend up there. I am not a religious person, but I will pray to every god I can find for their safety.

Shit, I just realized that this is one more thing that my parents will use as leaverage(sp?) to get me to stop Nerfing.

I know about two dozen people who go there. I almost went there...

One of the guys who I work with goes there and was in the lecture hall when it happened. He got out safely since he was sitting in the back row.

I guess what happened was a guy who didn't even go to the school was sitting in the lecture, got up and shot a bunch of people. Most of the injuries sustained were head wounds since everyone was sitting.

It's just terrible to see these things happen. Some people are just fucked up in the head I guess and want to die in fame. The sad thing is, there isn't much schools can do to prevent unless you want to pass every student through a metal detector everytime they walk into a building. But that isn't very feasible.

I'm not religious but my thoughts and concern go out to all the people who were effected by this terrible tragedy.

Im not too religious either, but I will pray for them. Yep, my parents will and already have tried to get me to stop nerfing because of it. Im no stranger to school violence. Some dude stabbed his friend 7 times in my school (GTA nerfers might have heard about it). Bloody awful (literaly)

I'll pray for all who attended this lecture and had to witness this madness. But even more, I pray for the families and friends of those who lost their lives or were injured in this tragedy. I wish there was more I could do.

As for the ignorant little fuck who did this...burn in Hell.

Man. I think there was a shooting at the middle school two blocks away from my house. It is a bad neighborhood. My dad and I were coming back from the store this morning and we saw cop cars blocking of acess in or out of the neighborhood. It looked scary. I am sooo glad I did not go to that middle school, and did homeschool this year. But that's tragic. I am just thinking about V tech too. Some people just have fucked up minds. Terrible. I'll put on my black hat.

Yeah...this school is actually only 45 minutes away from me. I went up there with our band a few months ago...scary. Also the fact that theres like been so many shootings in the past few years, makes me really scared since I'm going to college in 4 years.

All this is why the world (at least the US) is becoming a worse place to live! This is causing all sorts of fun things...mainly explosives to be banned. I wouldn't be surprised if by the time I become 18 and would be able to buy all sorts of stuff, that fireworks and the chemicals are going to be banned altogether. Same things with guns...another fun thing that I wish I had.

50 years ago... god it must have been awesome then. I heard from some older guy that you could simply go to the hardware store and by tons of fuse. Drug stores would sell you huge cans of sulfur. Hardware stores sold dynamite as rock/stump remover!

Many NH users / members are college aged (more than most of the other forums) so I know it hits home pretty hard, as Shindig experienced last year at VTech. Just goes to show how fragile life is. Take care of each other, even on these here forum boards.
