Alright, before I get started, please move this topic if its in the wrong place. I put it in modifications, because I tried to modify the blaster at first, but I am having some trouble with it.

Anyway, I got a Chainblazer yesterday, and it was decent. But I only had 4 functional megas. So I wanted to try to modify it to shoot micros. I cut some pieces of CPVC, Wrapped each one in e-tape and fit them into the chains. When I tried to shoot it, it didn't shoot at all. So I took it apart, and found out the plunger was bone dry. So I put some lube on the plunger. Then after I closed it back up, the gun still doesnt fire. It makes the loud bang when i pull back the handle, but only 1 or 2 darts fire for every 10 or so attempts of shooting it. I hotglued an o-ring to the lip that connects the plunger to the chains, but that didn't help at all. Any ideas as to what is wrong with it? Sorry if I was too vague.

Does the chain rotate when you try to fire? If not, check your clip advancing piece, found in the second part of this mod.

No, it rotates just fine. I already checked that page up and down, but thanks anyway.

The cpvc is probably too tight. Try some petg or brass that keeps your darts fairly snug, but not tight.

I just replaced the CPVC with OMC PETG, and it seemed to shoot more often. But it still only shoots half of the chain every complete revolution (8 shots). The main problem now is that the top flap flips up at random when I fire the blaster, and the chain flys forward and off the gun.

I thin you problem is in the chains, and not the plunger. Take the chain off and fire a shot to see if it will push air. I most likely will.

when you attached the cpvc to the base of the chin you have to make sure bno glue if on the outside of the tube. The base of the chain is supposed to slide through the grove on the top cover and if it doesn't go through smoothly, the timing of the chain and the release of the plunger will be off, and result in no firing. Trim the glue around each tube.

ohh just remembered, if the tube is not exactally the same size as the rotation piece, you will have to make the tubes thicker.

You want to try and make the chains as close to stock as possible dimensions as possible. I would have suggested that you put tubes inside the stock chains but I think that is too late now.

Thats not what i meant; I have the stock chains, and I nested CPVC (now its PETG) into the stock chain barrels, using e-tape as support (wrapping e-tape around the PETG). Long story short, I'm modifying the chains, not replacing them.

It sounds like your plunger isn't working as well as it should. Perhaps some e-tape + silicone lube around the plunger head is in order. Does it seem like there's a decent amount of air volume coming out of the gun if you dry-fire it without the chains in? Mine has a fairly high air volume output.

I did open up the gun and put some e-tape + lube on the plunger head, back when I first modified it. But That didn't seem to help.

I really don't know what could be wrong with the gun. It seems like you've got all the bases covered.

If you could get some internal photos, I think I'd be able to help you out more. As far as I know, this gun should be firing very well!

hmm... i dont think theres a good enough seal on the pvc pipe and the barrel. Ive never actually seen a chainblazer but i think I'm right in saying it might be a seal problem.
