My girlfriend has a masters in classical piano from NYU, whereas I am a talentless loser. Sad really.

Anyways, if you want a nerfhaven theme song to be adopted in any way I must approve it, and you should be warned that I am metal like the sun is hot.....collective hos.

And remember - he loves Gwar in particular - so the more penises and mentions of flying semen the better.

The sun is hot indeed. So long as you don't have a problem with Orchestral metal (ie. Nightwish, etc.) we're in good shape.

While we're at making a NerfHaven theme song we might as well get a mascot too. I can see it now, VACC dressed up as...well, I'll let your imagination complete the picture.

Anyways, I'm on my second year on the piano, I've been wanting to test my skills on the keyboard, but I'm not going sifting through all kinds of junk in the depths of my basement to find my dad's 10 year old Yamaha keyboard.

When speaking about a swallow, always make sure you know whether it is an African or European swallow. It is very important.

How orchestral are we talking about? Would a (virtual) 120-piece orchestra be out of the question?

virtual my ass. If this is going to happen it demands as much Effeminate as possible, thus live orchestra. Or at least pre-recorded parts mixed.

Live orchestra == mucho expensive. Pre-recorded/mixed is impractical.

Of course, that's not to say that I would mind a live 120-piece orchestra, preferably with a full choir dramatically singing nonsense in Latin.

Hell, we could just adopt Berlioz's Requiem.

Instrumentation

The Requiem is scored for

* 20 woodwinds: 4 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 English horns, 4 clarinets, 8 bassoons
* 12 horns
* 4 cornets and 4 tubas (in the orchestra)
* 4 brass choirs
o Choir 1 to the North: 4 cornets, 4 trombones, 2 tubas
o Choir 2 to the East: 4 trumpets, 4 trombones
o Choir 3 to the West: 4 trumpets, 4 trombones
o Choir 4 to the South: 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 4 ophicleides[citation needed]
* a huge battery of percussionists
o 16 timpani played by 10 timpanists
o 2 bass drums
o 4 tam-tams
o 10 pairs of cymbals
* more than a hundred strings
o 25 First violins
o 25 Second violins
o 20 violas
o 20 violoncellos
o 18 double basses

* Chorus
o 80 sopranos
o 60 tenors
o 70 basses
* Tenor soloist

In relation to the number of singers and strings, Berlioz indicates in the score that, "The number [of performers] indicated is only relative. If space permit, the chorus may be doubled or tripled, and the orchestra be proportionally increased. But in the event of an exceptionally large chorus, say 700 to 800 voices, the entire chorus should only be used for the Dies Irae, the Tuba Mirum, and the Lacrymosa, the rest of the movements being restricted to 400 voices."

Alright, done.

total forum membership is... what, again?

Seriously, we should do a remix of Dies Irae.
I'll handle all twelve horn parts.

I'll call dibs on bassoon, but I don't know where in hell we're going to get an ophicleide.

Or just go contra. Not that I'm biased. :P

As fun as the idea is, a distributed orchestra probably wouldn't work very well. Tuning, playing style, articulation, tempo… it would be impossible to coordinate well enough.

I know this is kinda old, so I apologize. I thought I would share my music, though. In my three music videos, there is probly something for just about everyone, and I am thinking about using one of the riffs from one of my videos to do a nerfhaven song. I hope somebody enjoys my crappy singing/ guitaring. http://youtube.com/user/PopeJimXXII

Wow, not bad. Is that an Ibanez acoustic? It's pretty nice.

Ok, I forget if I posted in here or not, so I will now. I play(ed) the Clarinet in my school band, I play the harmonica, and I'm learning guitar.

Thanks. It is actually a Yamaha guitar. The action on it is awful, but it sounds really nice. I have three Ibanez electric guitars. The one that I use in the electric guitar video is an Ibanez.

What models of Ibanez elecrtics do you have? I'm considering getting one.

Edit: Wow, I just watched the electric guitar video. You are really good, keep up the good work. Also, try learning Crawling in the Dark by Hoobastank, it would sound pretty good with your guitar skillz.

I have an old RG560 that I refinished in a worn-out looking brown color (beautiful....), and I have an sz (I have no idea what model number, but that is the guitar in the video), and I have an art300. It looks like a Les Paul. It is brown and the wood is textured kinda like croc skin.

Hey shadowkid33, if you didn't get enough money for your strat, then you could get a Ibanez RG4 series one. I just sold one on craigslist for 250. It had a real nice tone to it, not as good as my strat or Les Paul, but still very nice for the price of it.

Ted Nugent is crazy, literally and at playing the guitar. For some reason I knew someone was going to do something like that and comment about him.

I'm still saving up the $400 for a Strat, but I'm leaning towards getting an Ibanez RG350DX instead of a Strat. It's the same price, but It's also more oriented to Rock music, which is what I intend to play.

Most guitars aren't really oriented toward anything (in my opinion). I would go with the Ibanez, though (not that I am a fan haha), but it has humbuckers which are 10x more versatile than single-coils. It also has a floyd rose which you can...put a block under and imagine that it isn't there...

Yeah, I'm definatelly looking for a guitar with humbuckers at this point. The tremelo on that model isn't a true FR. It's an Edge III, which is similar to the Floyd Rose.
