This is my Nerf rifle .

I get 175ft max and 150 on a level shot. Rof isn't bad but its for losing after all
(I haven't come up with a good way to load darts yet )

Its actually really cheap ($20 for me). I got all my supplies at Home Depot and the pump from Sports Authority (Its a the 2 way one). Your not going to find the barrel I nested in the 1/2" PVC cuz' its from some random toy I found lying around so if you're going to make one just use brass. This is my first homemade so its fairly simple. You can keep a dart (or two if they're short enough, in the second handle. I'm still working on an accurate scope for it and other things too like a laser sight etc. Heres some pics of it and a link to a couple of videos (Suggestions are welcome and I also need to come up with a name for it too):

Also while that blaster is kind of cool, it would be impractical in a war.

In the vid you say it gets 80' at best, but now your saying 175'. Thats too big a difference to ignore. Which one is it? Also, it needs way to many pumps, not good. Otherwise, nice gun.

If you're using a ball valve you cant get much better. GJ for a first, but learn about other valves.

How the hell did you bond it? Hot glue?

Change it, don't shoot it anymore. I pumped up my cannon before gluing the endcap on. At 35 PSI is FLEW off, sounded like a 50 cal. shot, and made a HUGE dent in the drywall.

Yeah, please, PLEASE tell me this is solvent welded and not hot glued. If its hot glued, discontinue use immediately, and solvent weld it instead. Or you will hurt yourself.

Why won't you try installing a magazine cartridge. That would surel help the ROF if even a little.

U see, to answer both your questions:

I was using hot gulue at first so i could only pump it 20 times without leaking, which got me only 80ft.

But i reglued and used the stuff you use to seal/glue sinks, sprinkler piping etc.

also with the pumps, I figured it would pump more if i didnt pump too fast so now i only need 30 pumps to get the flat 150. (if u see the video im trying to pump super fast)

It's going to continue to leak until it's solvent welded. And if one of the parts of the air tank came unglued, it could hurt you or someone else. Not that there is a 100% chance of it happening. It's just not really safe. Even plumber's goop is not going to bond it the way it should be. Not trying to be a jerk or anything, its a nice gun and all, just letting you know.

Exactly right, except I'd say it's definitely not safe. It bears repeating....the glue you're using is just that, glue. Solvent physically fuses the PVC parts together so they can't come apart. There's a lot of power in these systems, even if it may not seem like it. Be safe.

thx for the info. Im gunna go find the solvent and weld it together now.
