I bought a lightning blitz a few months ago on Ebay, and thought it was a great little novelty blaster.
As I mod blasters, the first thing I do with the shell off it cock/prime, and fire it empty (only while spring guns are stock do I do this). I didn't make an exception here. Only problem is that more air leaks out the air tank's pin valve than out the barrels.
I didn't really think it was an issue at first. With AR's, it got 10 feet. I thought that was just stock range. After modding, however, I still only get 10 feet. I don't want to fiddle with it haphazardly in fear of making it worse.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm not going to make a write-up until the blaster itself actually works.

Oh, and no pictures, because it's no different in looks than any other Lightning Blitz.

EDIT: Sorry, guys, I had 3 tabs open, and I thought I'd posted this in mods.

In FA24's Lightning Blitz mod, he said the valve was similar to the SSPB. He said you can feel air coming out as soon as you pull the trigger (as with the SSPB).

Therefore I don't THINK it's that. I don't own a Lightning BLitz either so I'm not the one to know

Alright here we go, general questions and bits of knowledge on the LB.

1: Does the air leak out from where the pin comes out of after you pumped it and are not pulling the trigger?
2: Do you only pump it a few times and air comes out?
3: Are you pulling the trigger fast enough?
4: Do you pump it slow or fast? Thats gonna get added that hilarious quote to my signature, while playing with my butthole. Because if you pump slow air will leak out.
5: Did you plug the Op valve?
6: Are your darts tight medium tight or loose?
7: Is the little elastic in place?
8: Are the internals in place correctly? Carefully check this because if your trigger is pulled back to far to begin with it could allow air to leak out.
9: Does the gun not leak air and fire further with both halves of the shell entact?
10: Do your barrels have a good seal that wont leak pressure?

For the record: My LB shot farther than 10 feet stock. It got closer to about 25.

I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

xNFx37-
I did read that, although I am positive this is more air than there is supposed to be.
Angel-
1. No.
2. No.
3. I'm nearly positive I am.
4. I pump it real quick, but stop before the thing blows. :P
5. In the pump? Yeah.
6. My darts are custom tailored for the cpvc I'm using. There's enough friction to stay in the barrel, but not to slide out. It's in the middle, but on the loose side.
7. One part is tied around the vinyl tubing. Where does the other half go?
8. I carefully checked to see that they were fine.
9. I'm sorry, huh?
10. Yes.

#9 is kind of hard to understand.

As I mod blasters, the first thing I do with the shell off it cock/prime, and fire it empty (only while spring guns are stock do I do this). I didn't make an exception here.

Are you shooting this thing with only one half of the shell on? Because if you are, it wont be able to hold the trigger in place properly causing the trigger pull to be well.... weird.

You can feel pressure building up when you pump it?

If I am correct there is a nub that the elastic around the vinyl tubing goes to keep it away from the moving parts.

Take off half the shell and with a firm grip on your pump tube (leave it in place and don't let it move around or one of the nipples might break off) pump it up quickly until it is difficult to pump. Then, instead of using the trigger just push the pin, quickly, with your thumb. Does that yield a different result? I've had this problem before and it was a trigger position issue.
