Hey guys, I haven't posted in a little bit so I assumed I should make up for it with a write-up. This Modification will teach you how to make a good seal on the turret of the DTG, how to rubber-band it (internally), and to remove the Air Restrictors. I know most (or all of this) has been done but I figured I'd post this while I was doing these mods.

Materials:

-Philips screw driver
-Hotglue (gun and sticks)
-exacto knife
-medium sized rubber band
-sealing tape

To start off, open up the gun. This internal picture is after modification.

Posted Image

Take out the turret and unscrew the screws on the black plate.

Posted Image

Posted Image

All of the AR junk should now fall out of the turret. Take each circular piece and cut off the peg and the ridges from the center, just like any other AR removal. After you do so, it should look like this. Ignore the hot glue on it, that was from a previous mod that I later Un-did.

Posted Image

Continue doing this to all of the circular pieces. Then put hot glue on them and glue them back on to the black section of the turret. This will create alot better of a seal.

Posted Image

There were a couple gaps between some of the pieces and the orange section of the turret, so I sealed them up with some tape.

Posted Image

Place your turret back in place. Make sure your auto-rotating mech is in the right position. Now on to the internal banding. All you need to do is take a rubber band, double it up, and wrap it from the end of the plunger rod to the nearest screw post.

Posted Image

Now close up your gun and the Internals should look like they did in the first picture.
Stock ranges were about 20-25 feet.
Now, ranges are pretty good, about 45-50 feet with a DTD. Hope you enjoyed.

Questions, comments?

The chances of one person taking a bomb on a plane are one in a million. The chances of two people taking a bomb on a plane are one in a trillion. So if you're scared of a terrorist attack, bring a bomb on a plane.

I like it, the pictures are very nice and simple, and it is well explained, I'll do this to my DTG when I get around to it.

Is there any real disadvantage to banding the gun? I've got one on my Modular design right now, and wouldn't mind the extra range if it doesn't screw it up.

Overall, Well done.

The only disadvantage isn't really a disadvantage at all. The only negative thing the band does is make the gun just a bit louder. Other than that, it just adds maybe 5-10 feet of range to the gun.

If you add 1/2" CPVC barrels you will get better ranges. Nice mod by the way.

Thanks Dayko, but you know how in the write-up I said to ignore the Hot Glue that was on the orange circular piece where the AR was cut off? Well previously, I had 3 inch cpvc barrels on all of them. But they were giving me so many problems; some were crooked, some were longer than others, and some were way to tight. So I ripped them off and did these mods instead.

I kinda ran in to the same problem with the barrels. So I made them removable. All I did was just put my 3" CPVC barrels on the ARs and wrap a lot of E-tape around the AR and the CPVC. Now if you have a crooked barrel you just adjust it a little bit.

I like that idea but it doesn't seem like the e-tape would have a good seal, does it?

It has a good seal. I get roughly 60' out of my DTG. I could post some pics of you want.

Actually, internal banding does have a few disadvantages. One, is that the rubber band will dry rot over time. Another is that they might shift inside the gun, making it not functional untill you take it apart and fix it.

Nice mod Liam. I didnt change the barrels on my dtg, atleast not with CPVC. Its so tight that it would probably decrease range unlessyou add a stronger spring. Plus there's more friction.

Seeing as I actually made the LS-DTG inegration I think I should know a little about it. Personally I added another spring (LS front gun) and made a better seal on the plunger head. It works great and you should be able to get a good 50-60' with the stock barrels. And if you have it on the LS that's plenty of range.

On a side note, Kalentar, Id like to compliment you on you removable DTG. You posted that at the time I was MIA, and I didnt really feel like necroing a thread but I just wanted to say great job.

I know that the one barrel is missing. I ran out of CPVC when doing this mod.
Now with the barrels out:

If you need any more pics just ask and I'll post them.

I haven't gotten around to finishing the one I have, too many other things going on. The stock nitefinder spring can replace the DTB spring just barely for a nice increase in power.

Whoah, I really like that Dayko. So the black section of the turret acts as like one 10 shot coupler. I'm definatley going to do that with my other DTG.

P.S. Did you hot glue (Or other kind of glue) the barrels to the AR pieces before you taped them, or did you just tape them on?

EDIT: I saw what you said CS and I went to look around for a spring in my modding materials box. I found some spring from a gun I killed a while ago and it fit right in perfectly with the DTG spring. I shot it at my wall and I noticed a great increase in power. Thanks guys.

I did not put any glue in but I did find out that if you leave the peg in the AR it helps the CPVC level while your taping. After you have taped them just Dremel out the peg.

Alright cool, that seems really simple and effective. As I said earlier I'm definatley doing this to my other DTG.
One last question, were those 60ft ranges with stefans or stock micros?

Stefans. I measure from my shoulder level, and I'm about 5'8". So those ranges may drop about 5'.

Tommorow, I'm going to mod my other DTG with your suggestions (Thanks for the insanely quick relpies by the way Dayko). But for now, your avatar has put me in the mood to kick some ass in Halo 3.

It would be awesome if you added me. But it's my older bro's account and he gets pissed whenever I add someone, even the time I accidentally added some guy he almost threw a screwdriver at me. Why does he get pissed? Well he's, well... A douchebag.
