I have been experimenting with air tanks and stuff, and came across two new ideas.

1) a 2-liter bottle preform, You know, those things they heat and blow up into 2-liter bottles? It's all the plastic in one of those condensed ito an incredibly thich small tube, about 6" long. I might make a super high pressure system out of it. Plus, it retains it's top threads, so I can screw it into a standard-sized hose valve or whatever with an adapter. Plus, they look cool and could be made into an airtank-handle thing.

2) using those mechanical pencil lead cases as adapters. You could put the bottom into an air tank, and then make separate lid connectors depending on what size tank you need. So you could go, I need a long range shot and have awhile to prime, and plug in the large one. Or plug the small one for raids. Interchangeable adaptation. However, it would probably blow the lids off at high pressure.

So, what do you think?

Where does one aquire these preforms? I know I've always had a weakness for clear plastic with threading. "Wub PET."

There are many different designs of mechanical pencil lead cases. Which kind are you referencing?

Also, as a random reading:

"Attachments
The use of PVC attachments of any kind on PET bottles is undesirable and should be scrupulously avoided. These attachments generally include, but are not limited to closures, closure liners, labels, sleeves, and safety seals. Very small amounts of PVC (in the parts-per-million range) can severely contaminate and render large amounts of PET useless for most recycling applications. In addition, PVC is very difficult to separate from PET in conventional water-based density separation systems, due to similar densities (greater than 1.0) that cause both to sink in these systems."
