Alright.
I know there aren't very many of these left, but I decided to make a writeup anyway.
Diagram of parts

Start with your stock SM500.

Remove the round orange pieces which reside where I have circled.
Posted Image

I used my dremel and just cut them off, but it can also be done with a pocketknife and patience.

Next unscrew the yellow pieces on the handle.
Then remove all of the screws. Don't forget the ones the yellow piece were covering.
Posted Image

Take off the shell and take a good look at the trigger assembly.
Posted Image\

Now, take the pump and tank assembly out. Be carefull not to lose any springs.

Cut the barrel off where the orange muzzle piece ends and set aside the pump and tank.

Now remove the white plastic from the muzzle by any means necessary.
I made parallel cuts with my dremel and pried off the bits.

Take out the spring and peg thing. Then drill out the inside of the muzzle.
Change this.

To this. (mine isn't quite done)
Posted Image
Make sure your barrel materiel fits snugly.

Get that tank piece back out and cut the white barrel so it is flush with the purple shell.
Posted Image

Put the muzzle piece on the barrel, then put in your barrel materiel as far as possible. Pull out the muzzle.
Now you know the distance between the back of the muzzle and the front of the tank.
Mark it.
Posted Image

Then wrap e-tape around the exposed barrel piece until it is flush with the back of the muzzle.
Posted Image

After cutting off any excess tape, jam the muzzle into the white barrel piece. It should be tight.
Posted Image

Wrap a bit of tape around the outside of the white tube so it will be snug with the shell.

Put everything back together.
There you go.

I get similar ranges to an AT2K

Questions? Comments?

WARNING: Do not plug the pump. It is very easy to damage the valve beyond repair.

Thanks to Nerfer34 for parting with this rarity.

Awesome mod, I dont have time to read it all but from what I have, its pretty clear and easy to read. What about the accuracy and vellocity, is it basically the same performance as a 2K in all aspects?

From what I can tell it's about the same as an at2k,
I haven't been able to use it much though because it is currently 12*F.

A worthy addition to the Modification write up directory.

But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Excellent mod, although a bit different than mine. You missed me dual-wielding these at the latest Ohio war. It was awesome.

Not to hi-jack or anything, but a 1/2" cpvc coupler fits right inside of the white part that you cut off. I just wrapped some e-tape around the end, shoved it in there and glued it in. I can throw up some pictures for reference if you want. Your way looks very clean, though.

In my experience, they get slightly better than at2k ranges. They also have the magical ability to hit Diablo through anything he's standing behind.

Oh yeah, and definitely don't plug the pump. You're right about that. These things are the loudest, most powerful airguns I've ever heard too.

Watch out because with a good seal, these things are a beast (OHNO was cold and those things were powerful).
How many pumps?

A 3/4" to 1/2" CPVC Reducer fits right on top of the white portion of the "barrel" as well.

I do like how you kept the muzzle intact, though! These babies are rare.

Haha, perhaps. I do like how my orange rings are intact, though.

How did you manage to take off the orange rings without damaging them? They were pretty stubborn for me.

I didn't take them off at all. I figured that I wasn't going to plug the pump on such a rarity anyways, so I did everything without opening it.
