DAmmit, Imageshack is not working for me, so I'll have to explain best I can. (will get pics up ASAP)

I've not seen a CPVC write-up on NH, but before I try to figure out how to do It; lemme clarify something.

There is a CPVC writeup I found on google.

SO, I'm wondering, you always need the air restrictors to maintain a seal, but he removes them.

Does the hot glue act as the restrictor? What should I do?

The mod

I'm pretty sure that in that modification he actually pressed his CPVC barrels all the way into the stubs on the turret base. The hot glue he added to the edge of the CPVC made an airtight seal with the base of the turret when it was pressed into it. This would only work if you had CPVC that could fit in the stubs or if you dremeled out the stubs to fit your CPVC.

When speaking about a swallow, always make sure you know whether it is an African or European swallow. It is very important.

My CPVC barrels don't fit in the stubs, but if I push the base onto CPVC, it is flush with front of the turret.

And if you look REALLY closely, he says he presses the base ON TO the CPVC. Plus, with my CPVC, I didn't have to sand out the barrels for them to fit on there, he did.

Maybe it's because he has the older version, mines the new yellow one.

I'm pretty sure the hot glue makes the seal. But if you don't want to mess around with that, you can always take the post part and remove the post and connecting parts, but keeping the ring like this:

Edit: Sorry, if I didn't answer the question you were asking. I don't think I understood fully. Also, congratulations blasphemy on 100 posts!

That's exactly my problem. I removed my barrel posts, but the main circular part got deformed, making them not be able to fit back into the turret.

When I screwed it back together, it doesn't close all the way.

I wanted to replace it with CPVC anyways, but now I have no choice.

Has anyone CPVC'd a maverick differently?

EDIT: I guess 2 people reached 100 posts in the same topic...

What I did was put the AR's back in. The ID of the original barrels was the same as my CPVC, so the AR's fit back in.

Well, in Carrtoon's Nite-Mav he CPVC'ed the turret a different way, he dremeled down the stubs until they were gone entirely and glued it like that. In his thread it links to a write-up on NerfHQ, but I don't know how much its going to help because I couldn't access it due to connection problems. Does anybody know if there is something wrong with NerfHQ?

Here is the link by the way: http://www.nerfhq.co...hp?topic=3494.0

I've never had an NHQ link work for me EVER.

ANd I just realized the ID of my CPVC, is the exact same as the smaller part of the Mav barrel. SO all IT really so all it really does is add like 2 cm of barrel length.(
Oh and by the way, I filed a bit of the restrictor down 9the crappy uneven part) and it fits in now. I test fired it and it was alright. I did NOT do the penny mod or the roulette mod (I could've but just felt like closing it up cuz I was pissed)

But I still do want to do CPVC barrels.

I don't think I need the write up to figure it out. SOunds hella easier than what I was gonna do.

THanks

I could be completely missing something, but I'm having troubles just getting the turret apart altogether. It seems like I'm pulling the correct way, but nothing happens. I can't even see anywhere to pry, either. :P

Sorry if you think this is hijacking, it just seemed the place to do it because I'm trying to CPVC my Mav.

Pry off the plastic piece attached to the metal rod with a flat head. Then the turret should come right apart. Just pull the two pieces apart There aren't any screws holding it together that I can remember...

Ah, I should have been more specific. I mean the two pieces of the turret itself, where the original barrels are. I have the rod off and all that, that comes off pretty easy. But I'd like to rebarrel the gun, and I can't get the larger yellow piece into both of it's pieces to access where the barrels are glued.

Zippo lighter fluid has been used to weaken NERF's glue and also I bet that you need to unscrew something or workout.

Yes. I've unscrewed all screws that I can see, pryed some of the glue in between the shell that houses the original barrels and the barrels themselves, etc. I see no reason why it isn't moving when I pull with all my might, etc.

TS

*Edit* Zippo fluid aside, no one has said a word about this being a problem, which brings me to believe that I've missed something. Every writeup just has "pry the turret apart" then "now that the turret is apart".

There should be 3 screws on the front, three on the back, take those out and it should slide right apart. I have done a CPVC on a mav and thats all there was to it.
