I'm new to this forum and have searched around all day and i have to say, you guys have agreat amount of information here:)

This is my first gun and my first attempt at modding. The gun uses smaller size darts and the people at my job will only allow darts with suction, so i cant make my own. I need to be able to mod the gun to shoot the darts used by the the Lock n Load (the ones they use). Now, i have removed the internal spring from each tube, making the range much greater, but now i need to change the tubs. i know that the darts fit into thise Expo2 markers. Should i just replace the tubs on the gun with this or should i use another material, and what size diameter would fit these darts? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hm. I'm a bit confused on what size darts you want your gun to shoot. If you want it to shoot stock micros (smaller of the two) then I'd suggest getting 1/2" Sch. 80 PVC. 6" would be an optimal barrel length (for each barrel), I'm guessing. I do believe unmodded Lock N' Loads shoot stock megas, I could be wrong. I wouldn't want my gun shooting megas (larger of the two), especially stock ones from an AT2k. You'd be sacrificing alot of range there. Stick with stock micros, if that's what they're making you use. 1/2" PVC fits them nice and snug.

Thanks for the help. I decided to go with what you said, shooting only the 1/2 stock micors. I opened the gun in 5 minutes, and did a few hole plugging with my glue gun and changed the barrels. I looked for the 1/2" Sch. 80 PVC and could only find the 1/2" Sch. 40 PVC, which seemed too thich so i had the guy at home depot make me 4 tubes of copper (1/2").

Instead of sawing off thebase where the tubes normally fit, i sanded/crapped of enough plastic for the copper tubes to fit into it. I then took one of the plastic pieces that come inside the tube (looks like a square with 2 poles on the side, glued this in between all 4 tubes at the tip to keep them straight. This is my first mod so i was really happy to get it to work.

Thanks fo rthe help again.

Sounds like you did a good cosmetic and successful mod. I like the way you sanded instead of mauling away your barrel holders, and kept the barrel placers intact so your barrels wouldn't be all wobbly! Nice work. Only thing you might want to consider for the future is that brass is far superior to copper when it comes to barrels, although it is a bit more pricey it has less friction and weighs less (I believe). Happy hunting, and tell your co-workers they better watch out!

I think I remember reading that you can get one of those suction cup balls at the dollar store and put the tips on your stefans while the glue is setting. That would shut up your coworkers pretty good eh?

Uhh, no. Crayola's work ok. They're really meant to be used in conjunction with some other type of barrel, such as 1/2in Sch 40 PVC. It's the same concept as using nested brass barrels, only you don't nest brass. You nest markers and PVC. Plus, for pump guns (not spring powered), nested brass/crayolas are not recommended in most if not all cases. The nested brass/crayolas are usually used to the greatest effectiveness in spring powered guns. The AT2k is a pump gun, so just a normal barrel would usually work best.
