I need help, I can't seem to make an airtight seal with anything. Every time a peice of tubing breaks off I can't fix it due to not being able to create a tight air seal. Any suggestions on a way to make a very airtight seal?

I'm not sure what situation you're talking about, but Plumber's Goop is the best glue for air tight seals.

It's cheap too. It can easily be found at your local harware store.

If I understand correctly, your barrel keeps breaking off.

If thats the case, if your using hot glue, switch to epoxy, and rough up the surfaces (sanding, filing) before gluing.

And by the way airtight seals are in plungers, but to make sure no air is leaking, plug one end of the barrel, and blow through the other, and if air comes out, add more glue

Hope I helped

Oh sorry let me clarify. Its the vinal tubing on air guns. On my at3k the tubing accidently got cut a little bit, and every glue I tried to patch the hole with didn't work. And on my powerclip, a peice of vinal just broke off due to it being so old I guess. But anyways, I tried re-glueing it and it just keeps leaking there. I tried PVC cement, Plumbers goop, Hotglue, all of these with duct tape/e-tape around them, and them alone, and then I tried super glue ( yeah i know...) and it didn't hold. Nothing seems to be holding. Thanks for any help I can get.

You just need to get a new piece of tubing.
It isn't very expensive.

Yes like bobafan said a new piece of vinyl tubing would help. And the size of tubing you want is 1/4 inch. It's usually in the same aisle as PVC (plumbing) and is like $1 for 10 feet.

At my Home Depot it was at the end of my plumbing aisle, on the very bottom shelf by the tube fittings.

Yea, for the 3k, I'd recommend a new piece of tubing; you can get acrylic tubing at your hardware store for 50c a foot or so.

As for the PC, I'm guessing you're putting tubing over a nipple. If that's the case, then put a zip tie around both as tight as you can (use pliers). If there's not a nipple... um... try and make the hole a little smaller than your tubing, and make sure you push the tubing into the hole, not just onto the hole. I've never used plumber's goop, so I can't recommend it; what I use is plastic cement. Just make sure you get it right the first time, because it's tricky patching holes in the stuff.

Um, if XNF meant 1/4 outside diameter or inside diameter tubing, he is mistaken. If he meant 1/4 long he is mistaken as well, I think. so yeah don't trust him. ;)

Nerf tubing is closest to 1/8in vinyl. Get that and two fitting to attach it. Use mini zip ties to hold it shut.
We should stop calling out/making fun of/pissing GC off. He's actually contributed and is available for trade. He's a better than average member no doubt. Got your back Cole.

Well, I just bought some yesterday, and it is a lot smaller than you think, If you take a look at CS's Volley Titan, you'll see he uses 1/4 inch and it is extremely small.

I bet it's no thicker than 2-3 pennies stacked on top of eachother.

But i've never replaced tubing on an aT3k before, i'm just saying thats the average tube size used.

And if you measure the dimensions of the 3K tubing, just buy the vinyl tubing closest to those sizes.

Tubing just doesn't break off of stuff. You must be pumping it too much. If your tubing is cut, put plumbers goop on it and etape over it securly, not super tight, and let it dry for 2 days. Then try it out.

I'm not over pumping, but, when i did a barrel mod on one of my at3ks i accidently cut it just a little bit, and i patched it. So, then i just replaced the tubing with some vinyal tubing, but i couldn't get the glue to make an airright seal. Even pvc cement didn't do it, and pvc cement litterly melts the plastics togather if its left to sit long enough.

PVC Cement works with PVC period. Use 2 barbed couplers to splice a new section of tubing in.

So much misinformation in this thread.

1. No, 1/8" is not the most commong tubing size found in most Nerf guns. What is used is either 4mm ID or something that's closer to 5/32" ID or 6mm ID like the tubing used in the RF20.
2. No I did not use 1/4" tubing in the Volley Titan. I use 1/4" OD tubing for many things, but not usually for internal tubing.

Barbed tube fittings look like this

I happen to have one straight barbed tube coupler left that I could send you in a padded envelope if you want it. However if you nicked the tubing withing an inch of two of any of the barbs in the gun you're pretty much screwed.

You can't really use glue effectively with tubing.

Ah. That does make sense though, that basically no glue will hold. I guess i'll look for the barbed couplers. also though it was that the tubing came off the peice it was glued to. Well still I guess the coupler will work. Thanks guys. That might just save my at3ks.
