The Disk Shot

To operate the disk shooter, you have to plug it into an outlet, turn it on and listen to the motors roar. Next you take your six included disks and load it into the back of the disk shooter, then you take the wireless remote and point it directly at the disk shooter and press the "launch" button (to get the best results you stand 8-12 feet away from it). The disk shooter has two height settings; high and low. The low gets up to 7 feet off the ground, and the high gets up to 9 feet off the ground. So now you're thinking; okay that's cool, I'll just put it on its side and press the launch button when a person comes around the corner. Too bad that's only a thought. The disk shooter has to be standing up completely straight, or it will automatically turn off its motors.
Overall, if you want a cooler version of a tech target, buy the whole system, but if you want something to make into a remote mine, then be prepared to spend a lot of time, money, and frustration trying to mod the thing.
Questions or comments?
I'll try to get some pictures up tommorow (or today if I'm in a good mood).

also. It is what brought me back into nerf, actually. I picked it up at a toy store after not having touched a nerf gun for years, and then i got back in because I saw it.the whole shabam
You can actually tip it on it's side and have it operate without even opening it up. The way it senses if it's perfectly straight up and down is a little button on the bottom. You only have to put tape over it to make it think it's upright. Here's a picture

if you tape it down to the rest of the disc shot, i'll work perfectly no matter what angle it's pointing.
I wonder if you could make it quieter?

They make some jump-start kits with an AC outlet on them. So... instead of configuring it for batteries (which is an excellent idea by the way), you can just take the easy route. They both will be big and yellow however, you can hook up more than one this way.

I saw the Crossbow re-release on the shelf at my local Target, but I didn't want to tell anyone because I wanted them all to myself. I hid them all behind Dora the Explorer toys....

I've been away for a little while and haven't seen many reviews about the disk shot. How fast does it shoot the discs? Does it work well, or is it more of a gimmick?
It has a 3-4 second delay from the time you press the launch button to the time it shoots the disk up. It’s pretty fun, but like I said, only get it if you want more intense target practice or if you're really good with electronics and plan to mod it.

Does that little knoby thing work on carpet? Because i have a couple of devices that have that on the bottom, but they dont work on carpet unless you slide something under the knoby thing.
Yeah, I just slid a DVD case underneath it and it worked fine. I have no idea how i'm going to get rid of the delay. WTB Electrical Engineer!
EDIT: Oh, sorry, Kanaki, I didn't see your post.
