Epoxy is my agent of choice when I stick on barrels, but lately I've wondered if there's an advantage in buying a specific kind.

I already know the advantages of the fast and slow setting epoxies, so I'd like to narrow this down to brand. In the past, I've used the ACE hardware brand and it hasn't failed me yet- drying rock solid. But I'd say for the last two months or so I've been using the Loctite brand which has a weird yellowish color. I'm fairly certain I'm mixing it right when I use it, but it still dries to a more jelly-like finish than the ace brand. Not that it's a weak bond, but I'm still not sure which is better or if there is a totally different brand that works best.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

Depends on what you're sticking to what. Metal-to-Plastic I use JB Weld.
For PVC to PVC you should only use PVC cement.
For other kinds of plastic to each other I use IPS Weld-On #3 or #4, which are solvent adhesives.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Ace brand Epoxy Putty over Presicion Loctite works absolutley awesome for me. Goop with duct tape is very good too.

personally id recommend Marine Epoxy by loctite, ive used it for the Angel breach for my longshot, and many other applications in my homemades. ive used it for metal-plastic, plastic-plastic, and wood-plastic

the only downside is that it takes a LONG time to cure fully.

Epoxy putty is the way to go. Quicksteel is the best.
We should stop calling out/making fun of/pissing GC off. He's actually contributed and is available for trade. He's a better than average member no doubt. Got your back Cole.
