I just got a bandit x-bow for 16 bucks.

Wow, this think is so fuckin fun I just spent an hour just shooting random things out of it. I found that pop caps work better than the supplied ammo with some modification, and that bouncy balls would be devistating indoor.

The range is around 40 feet with everything stock.

I currently have a 750 on the foregrip, swapped the draw string with a more powerful one. It now gets about 70 feet. Holy shit, buy one, they are soo fun that i will be using it in quite a few wars.

ATB, how did you manage to get yer grubby mitts on one for $16? They sell for $20-something I think. I have heard that they are workeable as Nerf guns. Have you modified it yet, ATB?

They wont shoot any kind of dart, 'cept for the arrows that come with the lanard triple shot. The only mod i saw posible was to replace the the drawstring. Maybe I will wrap the bow itseffk in electricl tape to give a little more power. And, the have a surplus of em at a store near my House for 16.99, and tons of ammo.

I got mine for a $.25 at a yardsale , but it didn't have the silver thing in front or the black pieces in front. I don't have any of the original ammo, but with Nerf arrows it only gets about 20 ft. unmodded.

ATB what did you replace the string with?

I made one out of twisted electrical tape.

Also, there is a surplus of the Bandit ammo at this store as well.

I saw some or somin like em at the Boy Scout Expo at the Bristol Moter Speedway, the dude said he got his for $5 at wally-world(wal-mart) and his were strong enough to dent cans hanging from string at close range. The range was awful on em, but it had immense power. ATB, if you wanted it powerful, you'd make the bow thing tougher ass the opwer comes from the bow bending instead of an elastic string.

thats exactly what i was thinking but wasnt sure if it needed a good seal on the dart to make it work or not. and also i guess if the String/gun is too powerful it can ruin your dart.

Perhaps a plunger could be fixed to the string, then a compression chamber and barrel added so it could shoot dart? Thit could be done with a regular crossbow too.
