Is there an air restrictor in the Crossbow? Or is the air restrictor the long yellow tube, for which you do the barrel replacement mod?

For all intents and purposes, the yellow tubing is the air restrictor. There's a long, bendy spring inside of this tube that also limits airflow. You take out the tubing with the long, bendy spring, attach a new barrel to the plunger tube and you've got a very direct air delivery system.

Yeah, the yellow tube is the "air restrictor" for this gun.
I hope this helps: crossbow mod
Edit: groove posted first, the link is still relevant.

Does the spring really limit airflow? I thought it was to prevent creasing. There's a long, bendy spring inside of this tube that also limits airflow.

Yes it does both restrict air flow and prevents creasing.
I guess you have some heavy duty industrial strength toilet paper holders. Do they advise you to wear eye protection when changing rolls?
