What got you started in this hobby/obsession we all have? How did you happen to find this place? What about Nerfing appealed to you so much that you decided to become a member here?
I myself got started nerfing about two years ago or whenever the N-Strike Unity Power System came out. As soon as I got that for Christmas, I became obsessed with nerf. I found this wonderful place when I discovered how much an out of the box longshot sucked. I googled Nerf Modifications, and wound up here. One I read around a bit, I discovered that I wanted to become a member here. It took a bit but, I finally got approved and, here I am.

I owe it all to my former idiot friend. After introducing me to Nerf he then became my rival. We had competitive Nerf battles, I found this site and the NIC when I wanted to enhance the performance of my Nerf guns. He hasn't been able to compete with my modified guns when all he has is stock guns, and his mental capacity is so limited that he couldn't modify himself.

I think the first two guns I got were the Big-Bad-Bow and a Crossfire. I used to make things up like I had Co2 charged my Crossfire and when I googled it I came up with some mod for it and joined here, got banned, became a downhill bike racer, got un-banned, then started getting obsessed and spending all my money on Nerf. But every now and then I feel like a real weird kid nerfer since I do modify nerf guns. But then I come back to how I dont give a shit what everyone else thinks, I just try to keep it a secret.

Some people laugh when I say this but here it goes, revenge was what got me into nerfing. It was my older cousin that got me and my friends nerfing by shooting me on the head when we were 12-14 so I decided to ask my friends to help me, next time he came over to our house we all ambushed him then we started to play around and basically got addicted to it till we stopped for high school. now that were nearly over were starting again..

If you want to go way back, then I remember my babysitter's brother had to entertain my brother and I, and so he showed us his Nerf guns (I now know they were the Crossbow, the Chainblazer, and I think the Ultimator). I was hooked. So the next day I dragged my mom to Toys R Us and found a whole aisle of Nerf guns (I can't for the life of me remember what some of them were, but for some reason, the Wrist Blitzer stands out in my mind), but they were too expensive, so I eventually forgot about it. Then, a few years later, my brother bought a NB-1 and I bought an Electric Eel (both at garage sales), and I was hooked again. Next my dad bought a clone of the hidden shot for me at the dollar store, and finally, a few years after that, I bought a value pack that came with 2 tek 10s and 2 tek 6s at Walmart. That's what got me started to have wars. It's been history since. Only indoor wars though (It's starting to tick me off, and I can't wait to play in a park or something). I found out about the NIC last year in October.

In a nutshell, I found out about Nerf guns, waited a few years, 4 years of target practice, 2-3 years of having wars, and 1 and a bit years of modding.

I got started nerfing only about 7 months ago when I went over to my friend's house. He had started nerfing about two months before me. I became addicted to it. And then about september, I went over to his house again, and he showed me nerfhave. His username is Grenada, (ya know, the penguin witht the .38 revolver). I surfed the haven for about a month or two, saw how the place worked, and wa-la, became a member in a bout a week, and got extrememly hooked. And that comes to now. I hoped you enjoyed my life story of the past 7 months. :D And grenada is currently working on a homemade wooden c bow. ;) (for show, with acoual wooden bow attachements.) He said it wil only get about 30-40 foot ranges though. But it is mainly for fun.

I got into nerf when my close buddy Matt (you guys know him as Evil) got me into it. Joined the LCM and have been involved ever since, although I haven't been recently.

My first gun was a 1500 and I've been using one ever since.

Penguin, i got that same buzz bee gun pack thing!

So...when i was 5 or so i got a tiger striped secret shot (i think thats the name...its the little one with the trigger on top of the handle) and then when i lost it, i fell out of nerf again. Then i got the nerf package that penguin got, then realized they sucked to i stopped again and lost them. Then, one fatefull september day, i stumbled across one of FA24's LS vids, and i found my old buzz bee, couldn't mod it, (the ARs are in the barrel and can't come out...and i don't have a dremel) and found this site. I remembered that i had a TTG in my attic somewhere, but it was just a shell, so i painted both of my guns for practice. Then i remembered this gun i used to have that was only 5 bucks, the nitefinder. So i went to wal mart, got a NF, modded it, and i've been hooked ever since.

Well, I got started nerfing when I heard about it from a friend in boy scouts (laugh, if you will). He told me (in 2006 spring) that there was going to be a nerf machine gun with clips. I thought he was crazy up until around november 2006, when I saw the magstrike in a catalog and looked at its description. It sounded cool so I bought it. After about 200 shots, I realized that the range sucked, so I looked it up online, to see if this was a common problem. When I googled magstrike, I found this site with a few mods for the magstrike. I read around on the site for about 6 months and then I joined.

It all started when I was 4, I had a Manta Ray, a Big Bad Bow, a Hidden Shot, and a Crossbow. Probably even more. Eventually, for I have 3 older siblings, they broke. My mom got me a Firefly for Christmas in 2005, and I played with it for 4 days. 6 months ago I picked up my ugly little Hidden Shot, and out of nostalgia I toyed with it. I got soooo excited after looking up modifications on this site, but I had to wait to get registered so I went to the Hq. I saw no mod for the Hidden shot, so I went to my toy room and dug around until I uncovered the Firefly. I failed miserably at an AR removal, but succeeded in the HS mod after asking on the HQ. From there on, I was hooked on it. Since going to Battle in the Pines I've become somewhat obsessed with buying and modding guns.

Well, one day I was with my mom shopping for my brothers birthday presents. A maverick caught my eye and I said, "Hey mom, let's get one of those for them!" and we did.

Like 3 days later I bought one and soon enough we were collecting them and shooting everything.

After about 3 years of happily shooting, I wondered, "What if some company would make me a custom dart gun? One that shoots really far!"

So I started looking.

First thing I saw was on eBay, from daledale14, a modded NF. I bought that and then boom! I really thought it was sweet. Then I tried modding darts, then guns, then found NH.... etc.

My story starts with the Unity Power system thing, I got that a long time ago, I lost all the darts and gave it away. Then I saw the Longshot, and bought it. I liked it, so I bought more guns. But since then, I have been less interested in nerf, and more so in Airsoft.

I was in target several years ago, and got 2 mav`s (was with a babysitter) and he said that when he was a kid he modded supersokers. well after seeing how bad the mav sukted, i googled how to mod it, failed horribly, modded a nf, and it all went downhill from there.

As a kid (back in '92) my neighbor had a few guns, arrow storm, missile storm, fast blast, ballzooka, and a few others. We were financially challenged so my brother and I each had an off-brand foam launcher. We played with them indoors and outdoors all the time and even made a clan (this was before the internet, so we called it a club) and we even had ranks. You earned your rank (captain, commander, lieutenant, etc.) by competing in a free-for-all NERF war and the position you ended in determined your rank. Durring middle school I mostly played laser tag and then for Christmas one year my brother and I both asked for NERF blasters for Christmas. My brother got an SM5000 and I got an SM1500 (he's the youngest and therefore gets spoiled). That started it for me. We got a few more guns and had small wars in our house with a couple of friends. We built forts with sheets and once held the sheets in place with a family sized can of Nalley brand chilli and to this day we speak fondly of our dear Fort Nalley. I alternated between the SneakShot and the SM1500. My arsenal quickly grew to include the entire AirTech line and a BlastFire and three PowerClips (I thought they were the best primary in the world!) Then I got old enough to start dating and we had NERF dates. You might laugh a little but chicks totally dig it. It's creative, fun, and cheap (after you make the initial plunge, which you all already have). We'd get about four couples (most of the couples weren't in a seriuos relationship) sometimes more, go to a park and battle it out. By the time I got to college (still long before the N-Strike days) I had a sizable arsonal and we had a few dates with them. One of the best was a Mission Impossible themed date with twelve couples (I had just enough guns). I then left the states (a two year stint in South Korea) and when I returned I found my local Wal-Mart's shelves lined with various N-Strike guns. I picked up a NiteFinder, was very pleased, a maverick, and a couple of DTB's. I then bought several more NF's and a couple more DTB's (most of the mavericks I now own were acquired strictly by accident). This was about the time I discovered modding. I bought a modded NF on ebay and then modded my old AT2K and by that time I was hooked. A few years went by and I now own somewhere between 100-200 NERF guns and love integrating.

I've been Nerfing on and off since I was like three. I started with ball guns- the Pulsator was a sweet-anus gun, even if I could barely operate it. Since then, I've been on and off, but I didn't really get into it until the Unity Power System. In 2006, I was on Amazon, looking at product reviews of the Longshot, and somebody gave it a good review. They said that the Longshot was fast becoming the must-have gun, but that it's only good modified. The review provided a link to NH, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I'm still really bad at modding, having not enough supplies to do anything worthwhile, but I try, and I enjoy it. I plan to get modding done over winter break, and go to some wars in spring/summer.

Cheers!

Haha, imaseoulman, that was saturated with nostalgia, it almost dripped out of my moniter.
A long time ago, I had a pair of at1ks. I don't know what ever happened to it.
Then, several years later, I got a maverick as a gift from a friend. It broke soon, so I opened it up, and epoxyed a piece of plastic on top of the plunger tube, where a nub had broken off.
I can't really remember what happened after that.
But I am here now. Somehow.

It happened by accident. I found an old Nightfinder in my basement a while ago, you know, the blue ones without the rail on top. Fired it like once, realized how lame the ranges were, and googled mods for it. Then, when I broke it, I got two more, and a Maverick, and modded those up, and now I can't wait for the Recon.

I got into nerf around when the SS2 was still on store shelves. I got it for my birthday or something, I don't really remember. I thought it was fun but all my darts started loosing there tips and stuff. Then later I got the original Tech Target for Christmas. That was fun too but it came with like no darts so I got bored of it pretty quickly. In October or November 2006 my sister and some of her friends were playing an assasins game. She bought a Mav and a SSPB. I thought it was pretty cool but the guns ended up sitting under her bed. Finally I believe in the spring or winter, I asked if I could have them and she didn't really care so I took them and a had some fun just shooting them stock. Her friends were talking about mods so I decided to look for so look for some mods on the internet. They weren't here on the haven, they were somewhere else. I thought they were pretty cool. I found the haven when I was probably googleing something. I can't say how cool the haven is now.

PS thx Sylent Blade!

Paintball doesn't fair too well in the house. And my friends and I were sick of guns shooting like 5 feet so I wanted to see how to make them more powerful so I just did a google search.

I had my first nerf gun when I was very young. It was one of the supermaxx series but that is all I remember. I got into nerf modding when I ran out of working arrows for my BBB. I wanted to make it shoot tagger darts. I googled BBB tagger dart and came up with this great site.
Thanks

Well, in the very begginning of this summer, I was on vacation, and bought a nitefinder. (for some weird ass reason it was $12). So, I went on youtube and typed in nerf gun (can't remember why) and I found KBarker's mods.

I REALLY wanted to do his NF rifle mod (and still do) so I kept googleing nerf mods and royally demolished my maverick,
then modded 3 NF's.

Since then I have been obsessed with nerf and have around 25 nerf guns.

Thank you
