What's wrong with Nerfhq's discussion forums? When I click the link it brings me to an error page. Is anyone else having this problem? It's just with the forum for me.

I know that this sort of discussion isn't always approved of, but NHQ has been down for quite some time and I have some actual information to say.

I just talked to JSkater who had talked to Spanky (NHQ Webmaster) earlier on. He said that NHQ's server is changing IPs which is causing this problem. No word on when it will be back up.

This would not take place. The process of changing IPs involves a short waiting period that happens when DNS servers all across the 'net redirect to the new IP. It would never take a month unless someone messed something up. And since it's something that's nearly entirely automated (save for your dad/dad's company changing the IP) there's noone to mess anything up.

it was not the automated process that took long it was all the people haveing to make sure everything was working okay and testing the firewalls with the new ip plus a a bunch of dumbass tech people who kept delaying it.

If you don't like a Nerf site, don't go there. Flaming it because it isn't as active as another isn't doing anything except making you look like a tool. Instead of taking the time to go to NerfHQ, figure out that there were only two new threads, and then make a dumbass reply to this topic...you could have done something productive.

I mean wasn't it you, The Metal Bullet, who said "I honestly do see an overall quality level lowering as new members come in."? Don't you see this as being quite hypocritical, considering your post in this thread was completely useless? I don't sit around NerfHQ making fun of the Haven. I like this site, I think it has many good things to offer the NIC. I think that NerfHQ has good things to offer the NIC as well. Were you aware that there is a NerfWiki in production over there? Probably not, because you're too busy jumping on the "bash NHQ" bandwagon, if you will.

I don't expect the Founders over here to defend NerfHQ; that's not their job. But I wouldn't put it past them to take up your own advice, "I do not know how many more 9999 day specials the admins of NH have to hand out until the point gets across."

My guess is that if you don't stop acting like a complete douche, they'll be one more 9999 day special closer to the perfection you seek.

As far as the wiki goes, I'm not sure. I asked the rest of the mods and admins over at NerfHQ, so hopefully Spanky will see my question, figure out why it's down, and remedy the situation.
