Why would you want to only allow one message per IP? There are lots of instances where several people share an IP address. Are you trying to make it so that people can only make one post per person? How important is it that it work 100% of the time?

You're not going to get away with a purely HTML solution here.

You're going to need another language to:
- Get the IP
- Check if it has posted today
- Process the post

So I'd start looking for a host that does PHP as a mere basic (it's okay there's heaps).

Thanks. I basically need a script that allows people to leave feedback for the things I sell, except I want it to be limited to 1 person's feedback each product I buy or sell so that I have good references for selling stuff in the future.

It sounds like you would be better off with a guestbook that allows you to approve posts before they are on the public page. Then you can just pick and choose what you want. Restricting the guest book to one post per person, especially by IP, isn't the way to go.

Thank you Mr. Langley.

Can you explain how your site is set up? Do users have accounts that they can login to? Or, do you merely have an e-commerce software running?

But, as Tait said, you won't be able to do this with strict HTML. Acutally, there will be very little HTML markup for it.
