Time to start planning the 2008's first event. Let's agree on a date.

Name: Reckoning V

Hosts: LCM

Date: Saturday, January 12

Where: Mill Creek Park (Ocean County, New Jersey)

Time: 10:00 AM to about 4:00 PM

Directions: From the Garden State Parkway Southbound:

* Take Exit 80 towards Route 9 and Beachwood.
* On the exit ramp, stay to the right, and you will be on Route 9.
* After getting off the ramp, you will drive back under the Parkway and bear to the right.
* Follow RT. 9 until you reach a 3 way intersection with Route 166, bear right as you go through the yield to stay on Rt. 9
* Follow Rt. 9 for a few miles, until you reach a traffic light at Ocean Gate Drive.
* Take the jug handle to make a left onto Ocean Gate Drive.
* After 100 feet, make a left onto Mill Creek Road.
* Follow Mill Creek Road to the end, where it will intersect Chelsea Ave
* Turn Left onto Chelsea, and the Park is a couple hundred feet ahead on your right.

What to bring: Proper clothing - it should be cold but you will feel warmer the more we play. You are welcome to bring your own food but most will probably be leaving the field for food. Not a bad idea considering how cool it could be in early January. My advice is to go with a thermos full of something yummy or to hit up somewhere close.

I'm going to try to come, but I'm not sure when the Spring Semester starts so probably the weekend of the 5/6 would better.

I doubt I'm bringing anyone, though, so don't change your opinion for me...

This will be the 6th Reckoning. I'm an ass for calling you out on this, but it's true. We started Apoc in summer 2002 (hence this past being the 6th). Apoc was successful enough that we started THE Winter War (Reckoning) in winter of '03. So 03-04-05-06-07-08 makes six. However, if you take into account one being essentially canceled due to 2 inches of snow all over the park, then you are correct.

My dates are up in the air. The latest I can do is 12/13. I don't think Groove can make it that weekend, but I'm sure we'll here from him soon.

On the contrary, I can't do the 5th or the 6th as I'll be doing something in DC that weekend. 12th & 13th would probably be the only dates I could do.

As of now, any date will do, all of the previously mentioned dates fall before I head back to school.

The 13th is better for me. My sister has a cheerleading compotition the 11-12th.

Doubt I could go anyway, my mom cares nothing about Nerfing.

The 13 is my birthday...so the 12th is preferable for me. I'll still try and come the 13th though, because I can't think of anything I'd rather do on my birthday then Nerf, seriously.

Awesome, I really can't wait.
I can probably get a small group together.
My "clan" wants to come but none of them have actually been to a war so they are lacking any real interest.
Both dates should be good for us.

Well last Friday the entire senior class and I skipped school and went snowboarding at Belleayre Mountain.
During my final run at the bottom of the hill, I attempted a boardslide down a 10 foot box rail.
I fail horribly falling off the side halfway down the rail.
I basically dove 5 feet to the ground head first.
I put my hands out to stop my self and ended up fracturing my left wrist and lightly spraining the other while hitting my face.
So as you could imagine I contemplated whether I could attend this war.
I decided by the 12th I should be well enough to rock out with you guys but...
I found out today that my friend who was supposed to come with me is havening a surprise party and I must attend.
The good news is that the party doesn't start until around 6:30 and since I'll be with the birthday boy to be suprized, I can be a little late.
If we could leave around 4:00 we should be able to make it back in time.
My only problem is I don't think I can make stefans in my condition until about a week before the war and even then I don't think I'll be performing my best, so if anyone could sell me some well made stefans, that would be awesome. I'll need about 500 or so.
I still don't know If I'm absolutely attending yet, I have to speak with the party organizer first.
I can pay in cash at Mills Creek.
I'll let whoever steps up know if I'm definitely attending.
