I just cut off the ammo holders of my CrossFire and removed the Air Restrictor. I also reinforced it with craft foam. Now the gun makes a sharp cracking/snapping noise when fired. What's wrong with it?

Nothing, Nerf guns are always louder when you remove the AR.

Are you sure? It made a loud noise to start with, but I opened it up and reinforced it and now it makes a very, very loud noise. Sorry, this is my first mod on a spring-powered gun.

Believe me, it's fine. Open it and see if the plunger is cracked or anything, but it should be fine.

Adding craft foam to the bottom of the inverse plunger tube itself will reduce that noise (unless you already did, in which case how many layers did you use?). Since there is nothing extra to slow down the escape of air from the plunger chamber, the plunger tube will hit the back of the barrel at full speed and produce a louder sound than normal.

Thanks. I guess I just freaked out because I didn't want my CrossFire to break(it's my favorite gun) I only put on one layer of craft foam.
