What you will need:
Lots of glue sticks
Glue Gun
Phillips screwdriver ( or addition sign screwhead)
Epoxy
and some patience?

Alrighty lets get starty! I bought a Big bad bow at my Toys R us for about $20.
I've seen many people on this very site mod them and have had good results but I was tired of doing other peoples mods, So I made my own. I had a ton of 1/2 inch Cpvc left from past modding.

Ripped out the internals and saw what i could do. I threw out all the air restricter pieces except this one
cut where it is marked and keep this piece for later your going too need it.

Not much to do but replace the barrel. But how? well I took this piece right here, which was located at the front of the gun and cut off the barrel where the arrow goes, all the way down to the base like this


Here comes the part that i was surprised actually worked. I was really worried about sealing the barrel properly so I took a very bold step. I cut out 8.5 inch of cpvc and put it in the base of the barrel which I cut off earlier. Than i said to myself "How the hell am i going to make sure this is sturdy enough?"
I put the barrel in enough so that the plunger wouldn't knock it senseless. and than i sorounded it in a sea of very hot glue.

But i didn't put too much otherwise the plunger casing wouldn't fit.
So I glued it up too here.

Make sure theres no air pockets it should be completely glued in(everywhere its blue).
Do not exceed that red line or your pieces will not fit together. Your going to need to hold your barrel straight until the glue dries, but once it does your good to go. now put the white piece we had earlier and put it back in and it should look like this:
so your new barrel is almost complete.


I epoxied the new barrel to the plunger casing for an airtight barrel.
Now put it all back together and you have a new Big Bad bow that capable of hitting targets 100 feet away with top accuracy!(and a good stefan)

First off, very nice write up and very nice mod. It's rediculus that you're hitting 118' accuratly with only a barrell replacement. This mod makes me want to go o TRU and see what I can do with a BBB. I also like the name, Big Bad Sexy says it all!

Thanks, the 118 feet thing doesnt mean its going to hit 118 all the time though but out of all the times ive fired it thats the farthest.

What's stopping the gun from sucking the dart into the plunger tube or you ram rodding it too far?

Very nice Joey, I like it when I see people get rid of dead space resulting in better range and velocity.
118 is a little doubtful though without some kind of spring replacement.
Nice write up and consider it added.

So u want me too clear off the crappy uneven edges of the air restricter thingy and fill it with glue all the way to the top?
im in the mioddle of solving that problem darkshrimp.

I did the same thing a month or 2 ago, except I used FBR and craft foam. With a Handyman spring, I get 90 feet MAX! Thats pushing it 5-10 feet. How are you getting 118' max?

Starbuck said he got 120' with his BBB carbine, which I see to be perfectly possible given the emormous plunger chamber. FA_24 got 120' out of his LS, and BBBs have a bigger plunger chamber than the LS.

Starbuck is 6'5 and it was angled 40*. Thats about 30* higher, and 1'5 feet taller than "the average joe"'s shot.
FA is amazingly talented at modding so thats different.

I mean, a lucky shot at 118' is common when actually playing, and not just shooting, but I just was surprised when he said flat.

Do you have to blow it down, or ram-rod it down? You should've put a coupler on it...Just a suggestion.

I did pretty much the same mod with my BBB, except that I put a coupler on mine. My suggestion would be to reinforce the plunger a little bit more. My Nitefinder's plunger head just broke and I wasn't even banding it. Another good idea is to cut down the barrel to 3 inches and add a coupler. What I did to mine was that I put in a barrel that was 3 inches, put a coupler on it, and made a tri-barreled speedloader that consisted of three 5 inch section of CPVC. Not only does this tremendously increase rate of fire, but it gives your BBB a sexier and more badass tri-barreled look.

how much would the BBS (big bad sexy) hurt if it hits skin at close range?
stinging? welts? bruises?
i mostly use nerf guns indoors, and the maximum range i'd need is 40 feet, but about 120 might hurt a lot.
i wouldn't want to blind some1 permanently if hit in the eye...

Hey cool gun, i did that but i didn't do the AR thing that you did (but of course i did remove all of the AR's) Mines different, mine won't stay cocked forward so i have to push it forward, also since i am bad at making stefans, i have to jam it down the barrel to get around 70-110 ft.
