Okay, I am trying to put a pvc barrel onto a nitefinder. 1/2 inch pvc DOESN'T glue onto the plunger stop so I'm using the drilled out air restrictor to put that onto the plunger stop.

NOW: Barrel - Drilled AR - Plunger stop - Plunger

The barrel breaks off when I shoot it. I think it COULD be the shell pushing the barrel off. I'm not sure and very frustrated.

What am I doing wrong?

1) Make sure you glue the AS to the plunger tube.

2) What are you using to attach the barrel? Use epoxy and cover in e-tape to hold it in position while drying. Make sure you let it dry for a least a day. Hot glue just isn't strong enough in the long run.

3) Make sure you are drilling out the case to give you enough room for the barrel.

You shouldn't be using 1/2 inch PVC you should be using 1/2 CPVC.

Lynx, I did the same. I want me NF to shoot megas. I did the PN hoax mod and then added a little tube.

Its a tube from a adjustable comfort chair, the tube that raises the seat up and down when pressed, and took out the AR's and then shoved PVC into it, perfect fit.

Wnat pics?

I used model cement to glue them together and the only places where I glued was:

Plunger stop - Plunger

and

Barrel - Air restrictor

I let the glue set up with weight for a week...

I think it COULD be the

ace 49 spring combined with
weak glue combined with
cold weather combined with
the shell pushing the barrel.

Can anyone tell me what the f*** to do?

Is this your first time modding? Not to be mean but replacing the barrel with a CPVC one is pretty easy.

Just follow this and you'll be fine

Step 1: Purchase epoxy at your local hardware store. It's usually sold as a sort of double syringe that contains two compounds.

Step 2: Epoxy the s*** out of it, in basically the same places that you already did.

Edit: Although, CAPS's link will probably give you cleaner and potentially better results.

Edit 2: Not the link I thought he posted. Here is an excellent guide about epoxying "correctly." I just epoxied the s*** out of it, and it worked fine...although, I was using an odd 1/2" PVC couple->1/2" CPVC coupler setup. I can't remember if I used the AR base or not...

Instead of risking blowing up a Nf with a strong spring, why not just use the stock spring with the CPVC barrel with banding. You'll get about the same distances (a little less). But I mean, securing the plunger so the new spring dont pop the barrel out is hard and complecated.I dont know, if you want to go ahead, but doing the mod I gave in the link seem much cleaner and simpler. Remember: You're not gonna get much out of a NF.

I just have a couple of words. HOT GLUE THE HECK OUT OF IT!!!!!!!!!!! hot glue at least for me, never leakes air. Hey, I have to agree with CAPS though, a cpvc barrel replacement is pretty easy. (no offense)
